was charged with contempt of Court, in not appearing

think it absolutely necessary to be present, as it

Julia Wallace, alias -Big Jim," was charged with
allowing disorderly persons in her house, and refusing

out of the street, consequently being a weak and ex

Elslnger ycaurday delivered an elaborate opinion on
the Jurisdiction of the Justice's Court in a case re
cently heard before him. lu which tb* plaintiff claim

$10*.. Tlia defendant pleaded to the Jurisdiction
of th* Court, citing th* Code, which gives msgis'ratee
jurisdiction in the tom of not more than $100. After
