Cotton.—The market opened very Arm at
Saturday’s prices, with a fair enquiry and some
sales at quotations. Latterly holders l>ecame
more firm and asked higher prices, which some
what restricted sales, as buyers were unwilling to
pay the advance in quotations caused by advices
from Liverpool. Sales this morning, 1,287 bales.
Considerable activity was manifested in the
future market, and an advance on Saturday’s
prices were obtaiued. We note sales of 1,500
bales: 200 for April, at 13c; 100 for February, at
14 3 „c, settled; 100 for March, at 14 7 ,c; 100 for
April, at 15**c; 300 for April, at 15 3-16c; 300 for
February, at 14 9-16c; 20u for February, at 14*.c;
200 for April, at 15!, c. We quote:
