turpentine was ouiet but lirm andunchanged.
At the Board of Crate on the openine call the
market was reported lirm, wph sales of 200
casks at 2!)o for regulars. At the closing pall
it was firm. witn further sales of 59 ca-k' at
29c for regulars. Rosin—The market was

day were about 2,500 barrels. At the Board of

opening this morning, hut first prices show
op 1 v in.-ignifleant changes, al'hough Pacific
Mail sun Union Pacific were each up % and
Omaha common was 'A per cent lower.
Tnerc were some few further declines in the
earlv trading, hut the market soon rallied
anti prices ior the space of an hour advanced
rapidly, especially M., K. and T. and Western
Union'. Later in the day, however, the ad
vance was more quiet, although toward the
close coal stocks made a spur:, and the market
rinsed strung at or near ihe figures reached.

ceipts from plantations, 11,248 hales. Crop in
sight 8,419,305 bales.

hilmed a slight revival of strength to-day,
which was well maintained to the close;
cables reported wet weather abroad ai.fi some
injury 111 the fields; this occasioned a little
firmer feeling at tlie opening, August start
ing at 74 : !4c and advancing quite steadily to
75 11- 6c, closing at the outside figures. Corn
and oats also ruled a-hade firmer in sympa
thy and closed fractionally higher. Provisions
were steady, closiug at yesterday’s latest
figures.
