' Cotton . —We have to note but little change since our report on Thursday; the tendency is ■downward on the middle and lower qualities while the prices for choice lots arc fully sustained* Thi' is owing in a great measure to the fact, that the better classes are more in dem .d, while the middling and lower qualities are but little sought after, together with the influence of a low river. The latter cause however, we trust, will not operate long, as we have had slight rains at in tervals, for the last few days, ar.d the prospect now i? favorable for a general rain, which render our river, already a little swollen, in fine boatiag order We give the general range of prices below, though there have been, we hear, some sales effect ed as low as 4$ cents for the present crop; it was however, a very inferior article. EVANS’ CELEBRATED SOOTHING SYRUP, for Children Cutting their Teeth.— This infallible remedy has preserved hundreds of chil dren, when thought past recovery, from convul sions. As soon as the Syrup is rubbed on the gums, the child will recover. The preparation is so innocent, so efficacious and s» pleasant, that no child will refuse to let its gums be rubbed with it. When infants arc at the age of four months, though there is no appearance of teeth, one bottle of the Syrup should be used on tire gums, to open the pores. Parents should never be without the Syrup in the nursery where there are young children; for if a child wakes in the night with pain in the gums, the Syrup immediately gives ease, by opening the pores and healing the gums; thereby preventing convulsions, fevers, &c. Sold only at Dr. Wm. Evans’Medical Office, 100 Chatham street, New York, where the Doctor maybe consulted on all diseases of children.
