Gallighan’s Pills, though useful for all diseases
hich originate in a superabundant collection of
bile in the stomach, are more particularly intended
for Fever and Ague. In the first place they cleanse,
strengthen and give tone to theistomach and bow
els, and create a new and healthy action through
out the system. They produce;a natural and per
manent a'ppetitc; they defend [he system against
new or subsequent attacks of; the disease; t icy
assist the various operations ol qature by cleansing
the svstemof all vitiated, corrupft and acrid humors,
and thus invigorate and reanirrjafe the whole frame.
Possessing a purgative quality i they cannot remain
in the bowels to produce suijll other diseases as
often follow the injudicious treatment of the fever
and ague. They are composed entirely of vegeta
ble matter, and may be taken! i y persons of both
sexes and of ail ages, without] the least danger of
unpleasant consequences. Ini line, the public arc
assured that Gnllighan’s Pills {possess those inesti

this most distressing malady of |the human family.
The proprietors solemnly pledge themselves that
they do not contain a particle pf minerals in any
shape or form, but are composed; entirely of simple
vegetable substances, which <jijher separately or
combined, and without regard ’to sex or age, are
perfectly harmless in their clfct-ts upon the human

them for nearly a year, and, dill not delicacy forbid,
he could name several persons jvfio have been radi

others who are in a fairway cT being entirely re

Radical Cure of Hernia. I
“ The instruments of Dr. Chase have effected
the permanent and accurate retention of the in

committee, without material inc-onvenience to the
patient, and often under trials .more severe than
are usually ventured upon by those who wear other
trusses; trials that would be imprudent with any'
other apparatus known to the committee.”
“ The committee are induced ;by the foregoing
conclusions to recommend, in strong terms, the in

highest chances of radical cure.;’ I
The following is from the Soujthern Medical and

“ All must admit of the radical cure of hernia,
and that Dr. Chase’s Trusses are decidedly the best

all persons suffering from these disea es to the
1 thousands of cures that his preparation has accom

respectable testimonials which have, from time to
time, been published to that effect in New York

“Infallible Rheumatic Mixtures,” all of which be-

in which the Embrocation is held by respectable
men in the medical profession, as well as by the
thousands of persons who have been effectua I\-

THIS incomparable and invaluable remedy so

human system is such that it invariably acts like
a charm, for the relief and ladical cure of a certain
common and disagreeable ‘-ills the flesh is heir to.”
This prize obtains its own name from the certain
success which has attended it through all of its
trying circumstances, namely, “live days,”—the
same success which followed it in a Northern lati
tude still obtains in a more Southern. The formula
or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue
and hazard by M. Cheveres, from the celebrated
Indian Chief Wabesotiie, or Great Moon, whilst
he, with others was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu
siness in the North-west with the Indians. —
Wabenoshe prized highly and use it with invariable
success throughout his two tribes. Its known and
valued virtues have already enriched to an almost
incredible extent the children of this wail ike prince,
not only by actual sale of the article itself to in
dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt
at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
Great Spirit, never to divulge the “art of its com
position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
. free to use it in their respective tribes, which
places it in the hands of every Indian who rely
with, I may say, religious confidence on its cura
ble powers. p
Below is a copy of the translation as near as it can
be anglisized of the deed given by Wabenoshe, to
M. Chevcret, when he purchased the original recipe,
and had twice assisted the Chief himself through
the tedious manipulatory process of manufacture.
Few white men would credit the length of time
which is consumed in preparing the article for im
mediate use.

is to subdue every vestige of inflamation, and then

PERHAPS there is nothing :aor° nr Vrtlated to
disgust the public eye than the innumerable

HEADACHE, SICK OR NERVOUS.
The extraordinary reputation that Dr. Spohn’s
remedy for (his distressing compaint is every day
gaining is certainly a matter of much astonishment,
That so m ich suffering should have existed for ages
without any discovery of an effectual preventive, or
cure,is truly a subject of much regret but Dr. S.
now assures the public that such a remedy has been
invented as will convince the most credulous. The
principles on w hich it acts are simple and plain. It is
an admitted fact that this complaint, whether called
Sick Headache, or Nervous Headache, arises prim
arily from the stomach—those who think they have
the Nervous Headache may rest assured that this
organ, the stomach, is the first cause, lhat th 3 sys
tem has become vitiated or debilitated, thiough the
stomach, and that only through the same channel
must they expects restoration of ihe natural and
healthy functions of the system. This object, Dr.
Spohn’s remedy is eminently calculated to attain.
The truth of this position cannot be controverted,
and the sooner sufferers with ihe headache become
convinced of it, the sooner will their suffering end
in restoration of health, Dr. Spohn pledges his
professional reputation on this fact. Toe remedy

ffIHE great celehrityof this unrivalled Compo-
B silion, especially in the Northern States, leaves
the proprietor hut little need to say any thing in its
favor; for it has been generally conceded to it,that
it is beyond all comparison the best remedy for ex
ternal complaints that has ever been discovered.
Indeed the'speed and certainty of its operations,
have the appearance of miracles : as ulcers, wouuds,
corns,fever sores,chilblains, white swellings, biles,
piles, spider and snake bites, Ac. Ac., immediately
yield to its superhuman influence. Thus, if prop
erly applied it will remove an inveterate corn or
break and heal a bile in five flays, will allay and
perfectly cure an ulcer in two weeks, and the most
desperate cases of w bite swelling that can be ima
gir ed. have been destroyed by it m less than two
months. In the bites of poisonous reptiles its effi
cacy is indy surprising, and if applied in time, its
powers of attraction are so wonderful that they will
at once arrest the poison and thus prevent it from
perva ling the system. It is likewise greatly supe
rior to any medicine heretofore discovered for the
chafed hack and limbs of horses—for tetters, ring
worms, chapped lips—and in short, for every exter
nal bodily evil that may fall to the lot of man or
beast.

Dear Sir—My daughter,a girl of lourietn, was
sadly afflicted vvitn the comp ami that physicians
termed a scald head; and I feared, independent of
ever> other evil, that she would he bald in conse
quence. By the recommendation, however, of the
Reverend Mr. Perrin, I applied your ointment to the
afflicted part; and I thank God that my child is
now entirely recovered from the di.sea.se, and is
getting her hair as fast as can he expected. The
cure was effected inialhcr less than two months ;
during which lime 1 us* d fiv dollars worth of oint

been long known to me,as 1 have used none other
in rny rather extensive practice forseverai years, and

Dr. Harrison.
Sir, —I have no hesitation in staling, in reply to
your note, that your “ Specific Ointment” is truly
equal to the ma jority ot the ends for which you re
commend it. 1 qualify my certificate by the word
majority, as it is my maxim to give no opinion in
medical maUers where 1 have had no experience.
In sprains, bruises, inflammations, eruptions, whit
lows, piles, &c., it is my universal recipe. I have
aLo used it on the leg of a hoy which had been
bitten hy an adder, and the extraction of the poison,
and ultimate cure was so rapid, that my patient was
as well as ever in a week ; and has remained so to
this day

hundreds that are daily launched upon the tide of
experiment, and now stand before the public as
high in reputation, and as extensively employed in
all parts of the United States, the Canadas, Texas
Mexico, and the West Indies, as any medicine tbai
has ever been prepared for the relief of suffering
man. They have been introduced wherever it was
found possible to carry them ; and there are but
few towns that do not contain some remarkable
evidences of their good effects. The certificates
that have been presented to the propiietor exceed
twenty thousand! upwards of live hundred of
which are from regular practising physicians, who
arc the most competent judges of their merits.
Often have the cures performed by this medicin
been the subject of editorial comment, in variou
newspapers and journals; and it may with truth be
asserted, that no medicine of the kinl has ever re

They are in general use as a family medicine
and there aie.lhou sands of families who declare they

on hand.
They have no rival in curing and preventing

highly respectable Planter of Wake County, No
Ca.,March 3d, 183 S:
Dr. Peters —Dear Sir, —By request of your agent,
Mr, Harrison, I send you a few lines respecting the
almost miraculous effects of your pil’s ; and I would
add, that 3'ou may make use ol them, in connection
with my name, in any manner you deem proper, I
speak of their merits from experience,as I and my
family have taken upwards of thirty boxes in three
years ; and so great aK the benefits we have receiv
ed from them in general, that 1 would rather pur
chase them at ten dollars a box than have my house
without them. I w ill not enumerate lire alfiictions
they have relieved us of; but I can assure you they
were many, and of very opposite natures, which
has fully proved to me that your medicine is a sim
ple purifier of the system, and therefore equally
the enemy of every disease. I will mention one
case. 1 have a sister who had been for a long pe
riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the chest and
was brought by it to the very verge of the gra\e.
She w T as attended by the most eminent physicians
that money could procure; but all their efforts to
restore her to health, or even to mitigate her suffer
ings were fruitless ; and accordingly,we ail consid
ered her immediate death as inevitable. By good
fortune, however, as she was in this situation, ex
pecting every day to be her last, jour pills were
introduced into m3' family', and so speedy and pal
pable were their effccJLs that three doses visibly re
lieved her, and in less than three months she was
I perfectly restored to health. This case, I and all
; who were witness of it, (but more especially the
i suffering party,) considered to be the next thing to
; miraculous; and yet 1 could mention man3' more
I of an equall3 r desperate nature, in which your pills
were equally successful in rescuing the patients
from the jaws of death. Need I add that the popu
larity of 3'our medicine amounts to enthusiasm in
this section of the country ? But this 1 presume
you know from the immense quantity 30a dispose
of. 1 ma3 r mention, however, that notwithstanding
its general use, I never heard an individual complain
j of its effects. My residence is 12 miles from Ral
| eigh, on the road to Fayetteville. I am, with sen
; timents of regard, your ob’t servant.
A. G. BANKS.
To Dr. Peters, —Sir—For upward- of fifteen
months, 1 have been cruelly afflicted with Fever
and Ague; and during the time could find nothing —
though 1 had applied to every thing that gave me
an3' thing like permanent relief. At length, how
ever, your pills were recommended to me, Dy one
of our best j»hy slcians, and 1 am most grateful and
happy in being able to add, that 1 had scarcely used
‘ two boxes when I found that they had restored me
! to perfect health. Since then, various members of
! m3' family have used them with equal success —
and consequently 1 feel it m3' duty to apprise 3ou
of the fact, and to request of 3'ou to publish this
certificate, as 1 am anxious to add m3' public testi

Dr. J. P. Peters —My Dear Sir—On the night of

his son laboring under a most alarming attack of

tune, however, 1 had in my pocket a broken box of
your pills—four of which 1 administere I, with
such immediate happy effect that in a few minutes
my patient was at ease, and out of danger. This
case,in connection with my name is at your ser

you that your inestimable medicine is in such great

‘Te Cordial De Lucine,” or, in English “m
Lucira Cordial,” isa general invigorator of the
human frame! In all the various cases of languor
lassitude, and debilitation ; it is an unfailing reme
dy ; as it is equally its province to impart cheerful
ness and decision to the mind, as health and vi» o r
to the body. But the peculiar virtue on which “it*
celebrity is based, is the facility and certainty with
which it restores Hie virile powers when they have
be»n destroyed by disease, time, recklessness, or an r
of the numerous causes which terminate in th e
prostration of those functions.
In common with the generality of really good
medicines, this Cordial contains nothing of a n er.
curial or deleterious nature, among the many ingre
dients which compose it; but is, at the same time
so simple, yet so efficacious, that while it can reno’
v ate the prostrated energies of a giant, an mfan
may use it,not only with impunity, but with ad
vantage.
The usages of society are unfortunately such
that, notwithstanding the ben. fits which would be
sure to result from it, we cannot enter into an analy
sis ol this ine ttmabie Cordial here, or publish many
of the documents which have been received, as
vouchers of the blessings it has conferrcdon num
bers of despairingindividuals. But this wccannot
forbear remarking—that it. has been demonstrated
that there is scarcely ever, if any such thing at ail,
as natural barrenness, or as natural imbecility of
the procreant functions, in either sex ; and therefore,
that these evils are the effects of artificial causes,
and may be speedily subdued «ud removed by the
use ot “ Le Cordial de Lucine.”
The Lucina Cordial is also tn induhiiable cure
for the Gleet, and the Fluor Albus, obstructed, diffi
cult, or painful Menstruation; also, for the incon
tinence ol Urine,or the involuntary discharge there
of. It is likewise an invaluable and unrivalled
medicine in cases of Chronic Eruptions of theskin,
and in the dropsical affections of the aged.

To Dr. Magnin:—My dear friend—l arn mos

“Luc iia Cordial,” and am able to .4ear testimony to )
its surprising virtue. 1 had a patient recently,
i M , a gentleman ol fortune, who had lot
several years abandoned himself in the vorter. 01
dissipation ; and was only reclaimed from it at
length by the utter prostration of all his virileener- ,
gies. He was, indeed, reduced to the fast extremity ‘
ot debility and Ustelessness. lor, if an occasional j
j flash of excitement warmed his system, the reac- ?
lion was almost immediate.and the result perfect
prostration. 1 had applied all the usual nostrums
in such cases; but, as I had anticipated, w.thout |
success ; and when 1 saw the “ Lucina Cordial’’
advertised, i must confess that even the great weight
of your name did not give me much hope 111 it, at
least so far as regarded 1 lie cose in hand. I fell
bound lo try it,however, and was soon satisfied ol
its efficacy; for before a bottle was expended, tnv
patient gave evidence of the returning elasticity
