Its known and valued virtues have already enriched to an a'most incredible extent the ch ildren of this war! ike prince, not only by actual sale of the article itself to in dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the Great Spirit, never to divulge the “art of its com position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although free to use it in their respective tribes, which places it in the hands of every Indian who rely with, I may say, religious confidence on its cura ble powers. I have aEo used it on the leg of a boy which had been bitten by anadder, and ibe extraction of the poison, and ultimate cure was so rapid, that my patient was' a» well as ever in a week ; and has remained so to this day Yours respectfully, HENRY JACOBS, M. They have passed away from the hundreds that are daily launched upon the tide of experiment, and now stand before the public as high in reputation, and as extensively employed in all parts of the United States, the Canadas, Texas Mexico, and the West Indies, as any medicine that has ever been prepared for the relief of suffering man. They have been introduced wherever it was found possible to carry them ; and there are but few towns that do not contain some remarkable evidences of their goad effects. The certificates that iiave been presented to the propiietor exceed twenty thousand! upwards of live hundred of which are from regular practising physicians, who are the most competent judges of their merits. Cften have the cures performed by this medicin been the subject of editorial comment, in variou newspapers and journals; and it may with truth be asserted, that no medicine of the kinl has ever re ceived testimonials of greater value thin are at tached to this. They are in general use as a family medicine and there are, thousands of families who declare they re never satisfied until they have a supply always on hand. They have no rival in curing and preventing Bihious Fevers, Fever and Ague, Dyspepsia, Liver Complaints, Sick Headache, Jaundice, Asthma, Dropsy, Rheumatism, Enlargement of the Spleen, Piles, Cholic, Female Obstructions, Heartburn, Furred Tongue, Nausea, Distension of the Stomach and Bowels, IncipientDiarrhcea,Flatulence,Habitu al Costiveness, Loss of Appetite, Blotched or Sallow Complexion, and in cases of torpor of the bowels, where a cathartic or aperient is needed They are exceedingly mild in their operation, producing neither nausea, griping no. debility. The following was forwarded to Dr. Peters, by a highly respectable Planter of Wake County, No Ca ,March 3d, 1838: Dr. Peters —Dear Sir, By request of your agent, . Mr. Harrison, I send you a few lines respecting the almost miraculous effects of your pil's ; and I would add, that you may make use ol them, in connection with my name, in any manner you deem proper, I speak of their merits from experience, as 1 and my family have taken upwards of thirty boxes in three I years ; and so great are tiie benefits we havereceiv ; ed from them in general, that I would rather pur i chase them at ten dollars a box than have my house | without thorn. 1 will not enumerate the afflictions I they have relieved us of; but 1 can assure you they | were many, and of very opposite natures, which I has fully proved to me that your medicine is a sirn j pie purifier of the system, and therefore equally the enemy of every disease. I will mention one case. I have a sister who had been for a long pe riod severely afflicted with dropsy in the chest and was brought by it to the very verge of the grave. She was attended by the most eminent physicians that money could procure; but all their efforts to restore her to health, or even to mitigate her suffer ings were fruitless ; and accordingly,we all consid ered her immediate death as inevitable, by good fortune, however, as she w T as in this situation, ex pecting every day to be her last, your pills were introduced into my family, and so speedy and pal pable were their effects that three doses visibly re lieved her, and in less than three months she was perfectly restored to health. This case, I and all who were witness of it, (but more especially the I suffering party,) considered to be the next thing to miraculous; and yet i could mention many more of an equally desperate nature, in which your pills were equally successful in rescuing the patients from the jaws of death. Need 1 add that the popu larity of your medicine amounts to enthusiasm in this section of the country ? But this 1 presume you know from the immense quantity you dispose of I may mention, however, that notwithstanding ; its general use, I never heard an individual complain of its effects. My residence is J2miies from bai eigli, on the road to Fayetteville. 1 am, with sen timents of regard, your oh’t servant. A. G. BANKS. To Dr. Peters. —Sir —For upward' 7 of fifteen months, 1 have been cruelly afflicted with Fever ! and Ague; and during the time could find nothing — though I had applied to every thing that gave me 1 any tiling like permanent relief. At length, how ; ever, your pills were recommended to me, by one ■ of our best phj sicians, and I am most grateful and happy in being able to add, that I had scarcely used two boxes when I found that they had restored me to perfect health. Since then, various members of my family have used them with equal success— and consequently 1 feel it my duty to apprise you of the fact, and to request of you to publish this certificate, as I am anxious to add my public testi mony to the almost miraculous virtues of your un rivalled medicine. Respectfully yours, THEODORE JAMES. Augusta, Ga.. Feb 10, 1839, Communication received from the eminent Dr. J. ; H. Irwin of Florence, Georgia: Dr. J. P. By the greatest good for | tune, however, 1 had in my pocket a broken box of your pills —four of which I administered, with i such immediate happy effect that in a few minutes my patient was at ease, and out of danger. In all the various cases of languor lassitude, and debilitation ; it is an unfailing reme dy ; as it is equally its province to impart cheerful ness and decision to ti e mind, as health and vigor to the body But the peculiar virtue on which'us celebrity is based, is the facility and certainty with which it restores the virile powers when they have been destroyed by d<st ase.ini.e, recklessness, oranr of the numerous causes which terminate in the prostration of those functions. In common with the generally of really good medicines, thisi. oidial contains nothing of a mer curial or deleterious nature, among ihe many inere dtents which compose it; but is, at the same nine so simple, yet so t fficacious, that while it ran reno vate tiie prostrated energies of a giant, an infan may use it,not only with impunity, but with ad vantage. The usages of society are unfortunately such that, notwithstanding '.lie ben. fits which would he' sure to result from it, we cannot enter into ananaly sisol this ine timable Cordial here, or publish many of the documents which have been received, as vouchers ol ihe blessings it has conferred on num bers of despairing individuals. But tt is wc cannot forbear remarking—that u has been demonstrated that there is scarcely ever, it any such thing at all, as natural barrenness, or as natural imbecility of ihe procreant Junctions, in either sex ; and therefore, that these evils are the effects of artificial causes, and may be speedily subdued «nd removed by the use ol “ lx l Cordial be Lucine.” The Lucina Coidial is also tn indubiiable cure for the G!eei, ami ihe Iluor Albus, obstructed, diffi cult, or painful Mens! i nation ; also, for the incon tinence ol Urine,or the involuntary discharge there of. From the eminent Dr. Devigney, of Brussels October 3, 1837. To Dr. Magnin;—My dear friend —1 am raos gratified at the unprecedented popularity of your “Luc’na Cordial,” and am able iu near testimony to its surprising virtue, i had a patient recently, ' i >1 , a gentleman oi fortune, who had lor several years abandoned hiniseh in the vortex oi dissipation ; and was only reclaimed from it at length by the utter prostration of all his virileeoer g es. He was, indeed, reduced to the last extremity of debility and tasielessness, for, if an occasional j flash of excitement warmed his system, the reac tion was almost immediate, and the resuit perlect prostration. 1 had applied all :fie usual nostrums in such cases ; bur, as I had anticipated, without success ; ami when 1 saw' the “ Lucina Cord.al" advertised, I must confess that even the great weight of your name did not give me much hope m it, at least so far as regarded tiie case in hand. 1 felt bound to try it, how ever, and was soon saddled of its efficacy; for before a bottle was expended, my patient gave evidence of the returning elasticity of his system ; and he is now, having used four bottles, as w ell is ever.
