THE HA3IHUKG JOURNAL,
A Semi-Weekly paper, devoted to foreign and do
mestic news, the markets, literature, science, fyc.
Yarborough Jt Mullay, Editors and Publishers
fHMHK pr.-sent flourishing trade, and the growing
1 importance of Hamburg in a commercial point
of view, fully authorize the establishment of such
a Newspaper as the publishers design to make
the Jour al. No place of the same population in
the Union, and certainly none where so large an
amount of business is transacted, is without such
a vehicle of trade and intelligence. Every effort
will be maje to render the Journal entirely ac
ceptable to the liberal andenteri rizmgcommunity,
for whose patronage it presents itself. Political
facts will be given to the public as matter of news;
but political speculations, with their train of so
phistry, slander and abuse, will
be carefully excluded from our columns. Partic
ular attention wi 1 be given to the state of the
Markets at home and abroad, and we shall furnish
regularly corrected list? of the prices current at
Hamburg, Augusta and Charleston as well as co
pious extracts from the Trade Lists of the North
ern cities. Our extensive mail facilities will give
us intelligence from every part of the Union at the
latest possible dates; and the means they will al
so afford us of transmitting our paper speedily to
every post office throughout the South and South-
West, will make the Journal useful and valuable
to the business-men of these sections of our great
country, and we shall look with confidence for
patronage at their hands We shall endeavor to
find a place in our columns for every thing of in
terest to the business classes of the people and the
community generally ; and, in short, no expense or
labor shall be spared to render the Journal a truly
valuable paper, and in every way worthy of the
favor and support we now solicit for it.

nal will be printed twice a week, with g«od type,
on a beautiful white paper of an extra-imperial
size.

PEDIGREE.
J. R. 11. Acklin, E s q. of Huntsville, Alabama,
certifies as follows : ‘ Tom Tuustall was foaled
mine on the 29th May, 1831. His dam was High
land Mary and her dam a full-blooded Archie mare;
the sire of Highland Mary was old Pacolel. Tom
Tuustall was sired by od Pacific, and he by old
Sir Archie. This is as far as I am able to go, tho’
I am satisfied Tom Tuustall has descended from as
good a stock as any horse in the United States.—
He was a race horse of the first order, but I fear
will never he able to make a first rale race again,
owing to his leg ; it was injured when a three year
old, in training, as I believe. By addressing Har
dy U'ryer, Gallatin. Tennessee, you can get a full
pedigree, of the dam of Tom Tunstali.” The same
I Mr. Hardy Cryer certifies thus : —“ Highland Mary
I combined as many or more rich crosses of thorougn
breds than any maie ever raised in Tennessee.—
She was got by the noted horse Pacolel, the son of
imported Citizen ; her dam Rosey Carey by Sir
Archie; grand-dam sally Jones by the imported
horse Traveller, called Big Ben or Charleraaiue,
(son of O’Kelle ’s Eclipse, and one of the purest
importations of the last century;) great grand-dam
by the imported horse Wrangler; great-great-grand
dam O’Possum by imported shark; greal-great
great-gvan l-dam by the celebrated American quar
ter race horse, Goode’s old Twigg; great-great
greal-great-grand-darn by imported Fearnaught;
I great-great-great-great-great-grand dam by Lee’s
old Mark Anthony outof ainare by imported Mou-
I key.” Cn the sire’s side it is deemed unnecessary
to trace beyond :ir Archie. It is presumed none
wi'l require a purer or better attested pedegree!—
