LOUIS OFFON GOELICKE,
of Germany,
The Greatest of Human Benefactors.
Citizens of North and South America,
To Louis Offon Goelicke, M. D., of Germany,
[Europe,] belongs the imperishable honor of adding
a new and precious doctrine to the science of medi
cine —a doctrine which, though vehemently opposed
by many of the faculty, (oi which he is a valuable
member,) he proves to be as well founded in truth
as any doctrine of Holy Writ —a doctrine, upon the
verily of which are suspended the lives of millions
of our race, and which he boldly challenges his op
posers to refute, viz: Consumption is a disease al
ways occasioned by a disordered state of Vis Vitae
(or Life Principle) of ti c human body: often
secretly lurking in the system for years before
there is the least complaint of the Lungs cUjO—and
which may be as certainly, though not so quickly,
| cured, as a common cold, or a simple headache. An
invaluably precious doctrine this, as \* imparts an
I important lesson to the apparently healthy of both
I sexes, teaching them that this insidious foe may
j | be an unobserved inmat* of their clayey houses”
I even while they imagine themselves secure from
ift its attacks, teaching them that the great secret in the
art of preserving health.i to pluck out the disease
when in the blade, and hot wait till the full grown
ear.
m This illustrious benefactor of man is also entitled
, to youi unfeigned gratitude, and the gratitude of a
world, for the inventions! his matchless Sanative,
" —who. o healing fiat may justly claim for it such a
) title, since it has so signally triumphed over our

I the first and last stages, —a medicine which has
§ thoroughly filled tiie vacuum in the MateriaMedica,
| and thereby proved itself the (£/* Conqueror of Eh y

B will have abundant cause to bless the beneficent
K hand of a kind Providence, —a medicine whose
W wondrous virtues have been so glowingly pourtray
i ed even by sime of our-.clergy, in their pastoral
visits to tee sick chamber ; by which means they

GOELICKE'S MATCHLESS SANATIVE,
A medicine of more value to man than the vast
mines of Austria, or ev en the united treasures of
our globe, —a medicine, which is obtained equally
H from the vegatable, armnal and mineral kingdoms,
• and thus possesses a three-fold power,—a medicine,
which, thougn designed as a remedy f or consunip-
H tion solely, is possessed of a mysterious influence
i. over many diseases ol the human system, a medi
-1 cine, which begins to be valued by physicians, who
are daily witnessing d s astonishing cures of many
whom they had icsig* d to the grasp of the Insa
liable Grave. ’
DOSE of the Sanative, for adults, one drop; for

Profession in Germany, in Europe.
Wc, the undevsig ell, practitioners of medicine
In Germany, are well aware that, by our course,
we may forfeit f ie fi iendship of some of the facul
ty, but not of its benevolent members, who are un
influenced by selfish motives. Though we shall
refrain from an expression of our opinion, either
of the soundness or unsoundness of Dr. Goelick's
new doctrine, we arc- happy to say that we deem j
!fii s Sanative too valuable not to be geneialljr |
known —for what our eyes behold and our ears ’
bear, we must beliei i
We hereby sta e, that wnen Dr. Louis Often
Goelick first came ! ►afore the German public, as j
the protended discoverer of a new docuine and a
new medicine, we held him in the highest con
tempt, believing and openly pronouncing him to be j
a base impostor ai d the prince of quacks. But, on j
hearing so much sail about the Sanative, against it
and for it, we were induced, from motives of curi- 1
osity merely, to make trial of its reputed virtues j
* iip o ii a number of our most hopeless patients; and )
tve bow deem it oor bouu len dut) (o\en at the j
expense of self-inb rest) publicly to acknowledge
its efficacy in curing not only consumption, but 1
other fearful maladies, which we have heretofore l
believed to be incurable. Our contempt for the
discoverer of this medicine was at once swallowed ;
l up i n o ur otter astonisliment at these unexpected
results ; and, as amynds for our abuse of him, wo
frankly confess i?> the world, that wc believe
I him a philanthropist, who docs honor to the prolcs
s si? n, and to our coua -iy, which gave him biith.
The recent ad lion of this medicine into some
o our European hospitals, is a sufficient guaranty
4 that it performs all promises. It needed not oni
estimony, for when ver it is used it is its own best
