Cotton —The demand for export is steady, al
though moderate. 3000 bales have been sold since
our last review, without any material alteration in
rates. Alabama s ordinary to middling, have been
taken at 68 a 9 cents—fair to good fair, at 9* a
Uh cents, and line at 11 a 11 j cents per lb. New
Orleans and Tennessee, ordinary to middling were
sold at 6f a 9 cents —fair to good fair, at 9$ a 11
cents—hne and choice, at 11. a la cents per lb.
Coffee —VVe have no improvement to notice this
week—the transactions having been limited to
small lots for consumption. 350 hags of Cuba
were sold at 92 a 10a, 4 mos.; 140 bags Bt. Domin
i go at b£ a 9 cents cash ; and 600 l ags Brazil at 9
I a 10 cents.

been rather limited, a slight improvement has

The undersigned propose to publish in Augusta,
Ga. a weekly paper, to be entitled The Reformer,
extia imperial size, from the 10th of Mav to
. the lUthof -November next, for Oxe Dollar in
advance. As its name indicates, it will be devoted
exclusively to the cause of Reform, the elevation
of WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON, of Ohio, for
President, and JOHN of Virginia, for
5 ice President, and the subversion of the present
Administration, tiie necessity of relorm in which
is be oruing every day more and more apparent. —
It wi 1 observe a mild, dignified tone, and address
itsdt to the common sens£ of every class of citi
zens, tor whose benefit it is designed.
* his Prospectus is issued under the impression
that the friends of reform will make a united and
zealous eifort to give the paper a general circula
tion, in short to send it to the house of every man
who reads. The People want light, and if our
friends will aid us in our work, wc shall be able to
counteract the thousand calumnies of the Van
j Burcn presses, and carry the “war into Africa.”—

we ask is to be heard by the people. It is for

ter, being entirely free from all advertisements,
and is p aced at so low a price as to bring it within
the means of every man.
