f|9HE article published below, concerning the
new and popular doctrine ad' ajjiced by the
illustrious Goclicke of Germany, cannot fail of ex
citing a deep and thrilling interest throughout our

[Translated from tlie Germin.]
LOUIS OKFON GOELiCKK,
of Germany,
The Greatest of Human Benf.f|actors.
Citizens of North and South America
To Louis Offon Goelicke, M. D.;, of Germany,
[Europe,] belongs the imperishable honor of adding
anew and precious doctrine to the science of medi
cine —a doctrine which, though vehcmdutly opposed
by many of the faculty, (of which ac |s a valuable
member,) he proves to be as well fouijded in truth
as any doctrine of Holy Writ —adoctriine, upon the
verily of which arc suspended tlic livqs of millions
of our race, and which he boldly challenges his op
posers to refute, viz : Consumption is a disease al
ways occasioned by a disordered state of Vis V itm
(or Life Principle) of the human body: QQ 3 often
secretly’ lurking in the system for years before
there is the least complaint of the Lungs —and
which may be as certainly, though not so quickly,
cured, as a common cold or a simple hejidache. An
invaluably precious doctrine this, as H imparts an
important lesson to the apparently healthy of both
sexes, teaching them that tins iusidutus foe may
be an unobserved inmate of their “■ clayey houses”
even while they imagine. tiiem.-Ge 9 :-ecurc from
its attacks, teaching them thatf/ie gnat secret in the
,nt of preserving health is to pluck oif the disease
when in the blade, and not wait tiil edits J all grown
tar.
This illustrious benefactor of man is also entitled
to you'i unfeigned gratitude, and the gratitude of a
world, for the invention of bis mat* bless Sanative,
—whose healing fiat may justly claim for it such a
title, since it has so signally trine died over our
great common enemy, ffj-* Consumption, both in
the first and last stages,—a* medicine which has
thoroughly tilled the vacuum in the Mu eria Medina,
anj thereby proved itself the ffff Conqueror of Phy
sic iansJfA —a medicine, for which Ml mankind
will have abundant cause to bless the beneficent
band of a kind Providence, —a mecifinc whose
wondrous virtues have been so glowiugjy pourtray
ed even by sjine ot our clergy, in their pastoral
visits to tee sick chamber ; by which, means they
often become the happy instruments or ■ hanging de
sponding into hope, sickness into heaUh, and sad
of friends into joy fulness

GOELICKE’S MATCHLESS SANATIVE,
A medicine of more value to man than the vast
mines of Austria, or even the united Treasures ot
our globe, —a medicine, which is obtained equally
from the vegatable, animal and mineral kingdoms,
and thus possesses a three-fold power,medicine,
which, Ihougu designed as a remedy for consump
tion solely, is possessed of a mysterious influence
over many diseases ol the human system, a medi
cine, which begins to be valued by physicians, who
are daily witnessing its astonishing cures ul many
whom they’ had resigned to the grasp (i the insa
tiable Grave.
DOSE of the Sanative, for adults, o ic drop; for
children, a half-drop; and for infants, a quarter
drop; the directions explaining tiro manner of ta
king a half or a quarter drop.

A certificate from three membei s of the Medical
Profession in Germany, in Europe.
We, the undersigned, practitioners of medicine
in Germany, arc well aware that, by our course,
we may forfeit the friendship of some of the facul
ty, but not of its benevolent members, who arc un
influenced by selfish motives. 1 hough we *hall
refrain from an expression of our opinion, either
of the soundness or unsoundness of ; Dr. Goehck’s
now doctrine, we arc happy to say fclv.it we deem
his Sanative too valuable not to be generally
known—for what our eyes behold ; and our ears
hear, we must believe. .
We hereby sta c, that when Dr. Louis Often
Goelick first came before the German public, ns
tiio pretended discoverer of a new doctrine and a
new medicine, w-e held him in the highest con
tempt, believing and openly pronouncing him to be
a base impostor ai d the prince of quacks. But, ou
hearing so muen said about the Sanative, against it
4nd far it we were induced, front motives ol cun
os ity'merely, to make trial ot its reputed virtues
upon*a number of our most hopeless patients; and
we now deem it our bounden duty: (even at the
expense of self-interest) publicly to
its efficacy in curing nut only conpnpttefc, but
other fearful maladies, which we lave heretofore
believed to be incurable. Our contempt foi u
discoverer of this medicine was at once swallow ed
up in our utter astonishment at thesmunexpectei
results; and, as amends for our abuse c l mm, w e
do frankly confess to the world, tlia|t we believe
a philanthropist, who does honor-to ihe proics
sito, and to our countiy, which gave .ism birth.
she recent adoption of this mediciine into some
0 our European hospitals, is a suflic?e-u guaianty
Uut it performs all promises. It nSeudcd not our
