An Awkwahd Mistakk.— A circumstance of a novel and amusing nature occurred on Fri tl.iy in the County Court, before Mr. Serjeant Green, while trying an appeal from a decree ob tained l*y a person named Margaret O’Brien tvs. Keating a minor. Mr. Freeman was engaged on (iit- part of O’Brien, the applicant, and having handed his instructions in court, conceived lie was employed lor t .e other parly, and accor dingly showed that the defendant was a minor and consequently n t liable to be decreed. His [ lordship agreed with the learned counsel, and the : rule was about to he taken down, when lie was informed by Mr. Darcy, the attorney lor O’Bri en, that he had been “in the wrong box and amidst the laughter of the court, in which his lordship joined, ho very bravely commenced up setting his own argument, and quoted several cases in support of his new position. He had however, dor.e the business too effectually in the first instance, and his client was accordingly nou- alter a very entertaining scene.—Lime rick Chronicle. laisa Wit.—A genuine “son of the sod” came into our office the other day, and asked the rates of advertising foi a situation.
