An invaluably precious doctrine this, as it imparts an important lesson to the apparently healthy of both sexes, teaching them that this inskiious foe may he an unobserved inmate of their “ clayey houses” even while they imagine themselves secure from Us attacks, teaching them that the great secret in the ait of preserving health is to pluck out the disease ajiten in the blade, and not wait till the full grown ear. We, the undersigned, practitioners of medicine In Germany, are well aware that, oy our course, we may forfeit the friendship of some of the facul tv, but not of its benevolent members, who are un influenced by selfish motives. '1 hough we shall refrain from an expression of our opinion, either of the soundness or unsoundness of Dr. Goelick s new doctrine, we are happy to say that we deem his Sanative too valuable not to be generally known —for what our eyes behold and our ears hear, we must believe. [ , We hereby sta e, that when Dr. Louis Offen Goelick first came before the German public, as the pretended discoverer of a new doctrine and a new medicine, we held him in the highest con tempt, believing and openly pronouncing him to be a base impostor aa. d the prince of quacks. But, on hearing so much said about the Sanative, against it and for* it, we were induced, from motives of curi •siiv merely, to make trial of its reputed virtues upon a number of our most hopeless patients; and wc now deem it our bounden duty (even at the expense of self-interest) publicly to acknowledge its elficacy in caring not only consumption, but other fearful maladies, which we have heretofore believed to be incurable. Our contempt tor the discoverer of this medicine was at Once swallowed up in our utter astonishment at these unexpected results; and, as amends for our abuse of him, we do frankly confess to the world, tnat we believe him a philanthropist, who does honor to the profes sion, and to our country, which gave him birth. The recent adoption of this medicine into some o our European hospitals, is a sullicient guaranty that it performs all promises. The LIFE MEDICINES recommend themselves in diseases ol every form and description. Their first operation is to loosen from the coqts of the stomach and bowels, the various impurities and crudities con-tantly settling around them ; and to remove the hardened fieces which collect convolustons of the smallest intestines. Other medicines only partially cleanse these, and leave such collected masses behind as to produce habitu al coslivcness with 1 11 its train ofevils. or in a sud den diarrhoea, with its eminent dangers. This fact is well known to ail regular anatomists, who ex amine the human bowels after death ; and heme the prejudice ot those well informed men against quack nieilicmes—or medicines prepared and hcr laded to the public bv ignorant pi rsons. Ihe se cond effect of the Life Medicines is to cleanse the kidneys and the bladder, and by this means, the liver and the lungs, the healthful action of which entirely depends upon the regularity of the urinary organs. The blood, which takes its red color from the agency ol the liver and the lungs before it passes into Ihe liea t, being thus purified by them and nourished by food coming from a clean stom ach, courses freely ih.ough the veins, renews every part of the system, and triumphantly mounts the banner ot health in the blooming check. Moffat’s Vegetable Life Medicines have been thoroughly attested, and pronounced a sovereign remedy for Dyspepsia, Flatulency, Palpitation of the Heart, Lossol Appetite, Heart-burn and Head ache, Restlessness, 111-temper, Anxiety, Languor and Melancholy, (Jostiveness, Diarrhoea, Cholera, Fevers of a)! kinds, Rheumatism, Gout, Dropsies of all kind. In fever and ague, particularly, the Life Medicines have been most eminently successful; so much so that in the Fever and Ague districts, Physicians almost uni versally prescribe them. All that Mr. Moffat requires of his patient is to be particular in taking the Life Medicines strictly according to the directions.
