LOST NOTJES.
IN the month of June, 1825, I enclosed i* a let
ter, bj mai , to John C. Richards, merchant of
Baltimore, the first halves of three notes of the
' following description, to wit, one half of note num
ber 2158, on the Bank of the State of North Caro
lina, payable at Raleigh, for one hundred dollars;
one half of note number 287, on the hank of Au
gusta, Georgia, payable to R. Tulman, for fifty
dollars; and one half of note number 196, Bank of
August <,Georgia, payable to J. G. Cowling, for fifty
dollars, which were received by said Richards, on
the 18th June, 1825; and in the month of July fol
; lowing, I enclosed, by mail, in a letter directed to
i said Richards, the other half of all said Bank notes
I aforesaid, which were never received by said Rich
ards, and which were lost or taken from the mail.
Any information in relation to said lost halves of
said notes will be thankfully received, and any
person finding said halves, shali be amply compen

A REWARD. —Left the subscriber’s
XXzVr plantation,rear Quincy, Florida,on
the Slh ult., a negro fellow' by the name of Joshua.
He is about 30 j'ears old, 6 feet high, inclines to
to stoop forward when walking, commonly wears
large whiskers. He had on, when lie left, a blue
Iwided homespun coat and osnaburg pantaloons.
He sometimes calls himself Joshua Bush, having
formerly belonged to a family b>- that name, near
the Lower Three Runs, in the State of Soutli Car
olina. Joshua is well known in the city of Sa
vannah, on the Savannah river, and in Augusta,
Ga., where he is aiming to get; and from there,
very probably, he will make his way to Charles
ton, S. C. I have some reason to believe he has a
forged pas*.
, V Th®" above reward will be given for his ap
prehension and delivery to me at my plantation in
Florida, or SSO if lodged in the State of Georgia or
South Carolina, so that I can get him.
