The extraordinary reputation that Dr. Spohn’s remedy for this distressing compaint is every day gaining is certainly a matter of much astonishment, That so much suffering should have existed fur ages without any discovery of an effectual preventive or cure,is truly a subject of much regret but Dr. S. now assures the public that such a remedy has been invented as will convince the most.credulous. The ♦ nncipies on which it acts are simple and plain. It is ini a milled fact that this complaint, whether called Sick Headache, or Nervous Headache, arises prim arily from the stomach—those who think they have the Nervous Headache may rest assured that this organ, the stomach, is ihe first cause, that th* sys tem has become vitiated or debilitated, thiough the stomach, and that only through the same channel must they expect s restoration of the natural and healthv functions of the system. In manv hun dred certified cases which has been made public, and in almost ever} species of disease to which the human frame is liable, the happy effects of MOFFAT'S LIFE PILLS AND PHENIX RIT TERS have been gratefully and publicly ac- Inowledged by the persons her.•flitted, and who were previously unacquainted with the beau*iluily philosophical principles upon which they are corapoun led, and upon which they consequently act. The LIFE MEDICINES recommend themselves in diseases ot every form and description. Their first operation is to loosen from the coats ol the stomach and bowels, the various impurities and crudities eon tantly settling around them ; auc to remove the hardened fasces which collect I convolusious of the smallest intestines. Other medicines only partially cleanse these, and leave such collected masses behind as to produce habitu al costiveness with 11 its train ofevils. or in a sud den diarrhoea, with its eminent dangers. This fact is well known to all regular anatomists, who ex amine the human bowels after death ; and iion;c the prejudice of those well informed men against quack medicines—or medicines prepared and her laded to the public bv ignorant p< rsotis. 'J he se cond effect ot the Lilo Medicines is to cleanse the kidneys and the bladder, ami by this means, the liver and the lungs, the healthful action of which entirely depends upon the regularity of the urinary organs. The blocd, which takes its red color from the agency of tho liver and the lungs before it passes into the heat, being thus purified by them and nourished by food coming from a clean stom ach, courses freely th.otigh the veins, renews every part of the system, and triumphantly mounts the banner of health in tho blooming cheek. Moffat’s Vegetable Life Medicines have been thoroughly attested, and pronounced a sovereign remedy lor Dyspepsia, Flatulency, Palpitation ol the Heart, Loss of Appetite, Heart-bora and Head ache, Restlessness, lil-leraper, Anxiety, Languor and Melancholy, Cosliveness, Diarrhoea, Cholera, Fevers of all kinds, Rheumatism, Gout, Dropsies of all kind, Gravel, Worms, Asthma and Consump tion, Scuny, Ulcers, Inveterate Sores, Scorbutic Eruptions and Rad Complexions, Eruptive com plaints, Sallow, Cloudy, and other disagreeable Complexions, Salt Rheum, Erysipelas, Common Colds and influenza and various other complaints which afflict the liunia - frame. In fever and ague, particularly, the Life Medicines have been niosteimnently successful; so much so that in the Fever and Ague districts, Physicians almost uni versally prescribe them. All that Mr. Moffat requires of his patient is to be particular in taking the Life Medicines strictly according to the directions. It is not by a news paper notice, orany tlir g that he himself may say in their favor, tiial he hopes to gain credit. It is alone by the result of a fair trial. Thus, all nostrums adver tised for barrenness or the cure of impoteaey, but Dr. Magniu’s, are mere catchpenny humbugs, which would never have been thought of out lor the appearance and great celebrity of the LOGIN A CUitDIAL As no counterfeit of the name is at present in circulaiion, it may in general be a suffi cient caution lor the purchaser to ask for the Lucina Cordial, but as further assurat.ee, it would be as well to note tiial its mum , Lucina Cordial, or Elixir of Love, is stamped in the glass of each bottle—the combined arms of France and the United States are on the outward envelope—that a Fleur de Lis is printed on the accompanying directions, and beautifully embossed on the show-bills hanging in the stores of those who have the genuine article for sale. The celebrity of the Lucina Cordial being such as it is, it is scarcely necessary to add that it is the only efficient remedy for barrenness, and the resto ration of decayed virile powers ovei known; and that in the cure of Fluor Aldus, Gieet, obstructed, difficult or painful Menstruation, the incontinence of the urine, or the involuntary discharge thereot, ns superiority over every other medicine is not on ly decided, but unquestionable.
