Radical Cure oi iienuaoi'lvujptui’c, by Dr.
Chase’s intproved Surgeons’ Trusses.
rglllE subscribev has opened an office, at the Drug
B stoic of Messrs. J. J. Robertson is Co., for the
treatment of Hernia or Rupture, by means of these
ustly celebrated instruments, lie has now used
them for nearly a year, and, did not delicacy forbid,
he could name several persons who have been radi
cally cured, of tills truly distressing and dangerous
aifecliou, by the use of these Trusses, besides many
others who are in a fairway of being entirely re
lieved. The following is the language of Hie com
mittee ol the Philadelphia Medical Society on the
Radical G’ure of Hernia.
“ The instruments of Dr. Chase have effected
the permanent and accurate retention oi* tlie in

committee, without material inconvenience to the
patient, and often under trials more SeVClt* UlUj)

other apparatus known to the committee.”
“ The committee are induced by the foregoing
conclusions to recommend, in strong terms, the in
struments of Dr. Chase to the conlidence of
the profession, as the best known means of me
chanical retention in hernia, and as furnishing the
highest chances of radical cure.”
The following is from the Southern Medical and
Southern Journal, published in our own city.
“ All must admit of the radical cure of hernia,
and that Dr. Chaoe’s Trusses are decidedly the best
yet invented to effect tlie Object.”
Personsfrom a distance can have the instruments
applied, upon application al the omcc, and all ne

it themselves. Tlie poor, who are laboring under
this afflicting complaint, will be treated gratuitous

Tlie instruments are of all sizes, and applicable

JKR. MIXES’ COMPOUND EXTRACT OF
Jr TOMATO a substitute for Calomel, ami
does not belong to the family of quack medicines;
for the reason that the component parts are made
known to the faculty, or any one eLe that may
wish to know, by any of the agents keeping them
for sale. Since this discovery so long and anx

be made from the stalk, a thing not more aosuiu
than for one to oli'er meal from the corn stalk, to
say nothing of the difficulty of raising the Tomato
so far North.
Dr. Miles, of Cincinnati, is the proprietor of the
Tomato Pills (proper) for the great benelits of
which, lie holds himself bound, and in honor pledg

profess to be, and will do lor others what they
have done for such as mav have ujed them; as

as a daily vegetable will be found to keep the
system In much better condition than the other
kind ; many will recollect with what trembling
anxiety calomel has been given to children, and
how they taen wished lor a substitute. It has
lom r been known that the Tomato contained ca

Warranted to cure in Five Days,
t r I’iHS incomparable and invaluable remedy so
-1 long known, and used with such unpanalleled

r his prize btains its own name from the certain
success Inch has attended it through all of its
> uymg c cumstances, namely, “five days,”—the
same su .-ess which followed it in a Northern lati

j oi jecipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue

I Indian Chief Wabenothe, or Great Moon, whilst
i be, with others was pursuing the lucrative Fur bu

\ ( abenoshe prized highly and use it with invariable
; success throughout his two tribes. Its known and

i incredible extent the children of this warlike prince,
, not only by actual sale of the article itself to in

at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
Great Spirit, never to divulge the “art of its com
position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
1 free to use it in their respective tribes, which
places it in tlie hands of every Indian who rely
with, I may say, religious confidence on its cura
ble powers
Below is a copj- of the translation as near as it can
be anglisized of tire deed given by Wabenoshe,to
M. f hcveret, when he purchased the original recipe,
and had twice assisted the Chief himself through
the tedious manipulatory process of manufacture.

the subdoction of this loathsome malady—and ev

assertion, that copious diuiesis and reduction of in

a sound and radical cure

WERMITAGK EXTRACT.-This lately in
vented combination of delightful odors, has
acquired a just popularity, not only by reason of
the strength and delicacy, but of the extraordina
-1 ry duration of its perfume. Whilst tlie strength of
many other extracts and essences is almost as eva
nescent as the bloom of the flowers from which
they are derived, the Hermitage retains its fra
grance for an in efmiie length of time, and is
scarce to be removed from the garment on which it
is poured, by washing; hence it is probably the
cheapest and most delightful perfume of our labora
tories.
