Its operation upon the Human system is such that it invariably acts like a charm, for the relief and radical cure of a certain common and disagreeable “ills the flesh is heir to.” This prize obtains its own name from the certain success hich has attended it through all of its trying c cumstances, namely, “live days,”'—the same su .-ess which followed it in a Northern lati tude still obtains in a more Southern. The formula or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue and hazard by M. Its known and valued virtues have already' enriched to an ahnost incredible extent the children of this warlike prince not only by actual sale of the article itself to in dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the Great Spirit, never to divulge the “art of its com position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although tree to use it in their respective tribes, which | places it in the hands of every Indian who rely with, I may say, religious confidence on its cura ! ble powers 1 Below is a copy of the translation as near as it can ■ be anglisized of the deed given by Wabenoshe,to | M.
