The Greatest of Human 11 enefactors -
Citizens of North and South America,
To Louis Offon Goelicke, M. D., of German y,
[Eurotic,, belongs the imperishable honor of adding
anew an I precious doctrine to the science ofmcr.i
cine —a doctrine which, though vehement!\ opposed
by many oi the faculty, (of which lie is a vaiuahjj
member,) he proves to be as well founded in trujh
as any doctrine of Holy Writ—a aoctrine, upon t|e
verily of winch arc suspended the lives of millions
of our race, and which lie boldly challenges his oil
posers to refute, viz: c onsumption is a disease
wavs occasioned by a disordered state of Vis Vijje
[or Life Principle) of the human body: rj- oftf.i
secretly lurking in the system for years Delete
here is the .c ist complaint of the Lungs JE D —aid
which may be as certainly, though not so quick?,-,
cur°d, as aco m munco,dora simple headache. j|n
invaluably precious doctrine this, as ff imparts J
important lesson to the apparently healthy of be?a
sexes, teaching them that this insidious foe rnjfy
be an unobserved inmate of their “ clayey housed”
even while they imagine themselves secure fix./a
ts attacks, teaching them that the great secret int\e
cut of preserving he Uth is to pluck, out the diset^e
whan in the bldle , and not wait till the fullgroi^i
ear. _ I
This illustrious benefactor of man is also entitled
to yum unfeigned gratitude, and the gratitude off a
world.for the invention of his matchless Sanative,
—whose healing fiat may justly claim for it suci| a
title, since it has so signally triumphed over o*ir
great common enemy, f Consumption, both |>n
Die first and last stages, —a medicine which
thoroughly tilled the vacuum in the Materia Medic a,
and thereby proved itself the Conqueror of Fh i

We, the undersigned, practitioners of medicSie

W e Hereby sta e, that when Dr. Louis Oft'n

the pretended discoverer ol a new doctrine iirul a

a base impostor d the prince ot quacks. But,;on
hearing so much said about the Sanative, agains- it

upon a number of our most hopeless patients; «*ml

do frankly confess to the world, that we believe
him a philanthropist, who does honor to the proft s

The recent adoption of this medicine into some

It adieu I Curt; ol Hernia or Rupture, by Dr.
Chase’s improved .surgeons’ Trusses.
subscriber has opened an office, at the Drug
g store of Messrs. J. J. Robertson & Co., for the
treatment of Hernia or Rupture, by means of these
ustly celebrated instruments, lie has now used
them for nearly a year, and, did not delicacy forbid,
he could name several persons whohave been radi
cally cured, of tiiis truly distressing and dangerous
a dec lion, by the used these Trusses, besides many
others vv ho are in a fairway of being entirely re
lieved. The following is the language of the com
mittee ol the Philadelphia Medical Society on the
Radical Cure of Hernia.
“ Fhe instruments of Dr. Chase have effected
the permanent and accurate retention of the in
testines in every case of Hernia observed by the
committee, without material inconvenience to the
patient, and often under trials more severe than
are usually ventured upju by r those who wearother
trusses; trials tiiat would be imprudent with any
other apparatus known to the committee.”
“ The committee are induced by the foregoing
conclusions to recommend, in strong terms, the in
struments of Dr. Chase to the confidence of
tlie profession, as the best known means of me
chanical retention in hernia, and as furnishing the
highest chances of radical cure.”
The following is from the Southern Medical and
Southern Journal, published in ur own city.
“ All must admit of the radical cure of nernia,
and that Dr. Chase’s Trusses are decidedly the best
yet invented to ellect the object.”
Persons from a distance can have the instruments
applied, upon application at the o.bce, and all ne
cessary information given to enable them to adjus
it themselves. Thepocr, who are laboring under
this allhcting complaint, will be treated gratuitous
ly upon presenting a certincate, from some

The instruments are of al. sizes, and applicable

ANTi-BALSAMiC GONORRHOEAL SOLUTION,

r | IIIS incomparable and invaluable'remedy so
long known, and used with such unparrallded

a charm, for the relief and radical cure of a certain
common and disagreeable‘Tils the flesh is heir to.”
1 his prize btains its own name from the certain
success Inch has attended it through al! of its
trying c cumstances, namely, “five days,”—the
same su jess which followed it in a Northern lati
! tyde still obtains in a more Southern. The formula
or recipe was obtained at great expense, intrigue
and hazard by 31. Cheveres, from the celebrated
Indian Chief Wabenothe, or Great Moon, whilst
j F g j with others w r as pursuing the lucrative Fur bu
i siness in the North-west with the Indians.—
; U abenoshe prized highly and use it with invariable
success throughout his two tribes. Its known and
valued virtues have already enriched to an almost
incredible extent the children of this warlike prince,
| not only by actual sale of the article itself to in
dividuals, but by parting with copies of his receipt
at enormous prices to the Chief of every tribe of
Indians in America, with a solemn promise to the
Great Spirit, never to divulge the “ait of its com
i position until he sleeps with his fathers,” although
tree to use it in their respective tribes, which
places it in the hands of every Indian who relj
with, 1 may say, religious confidence on its cura

I Below is a copy of the translation as near as It can
! anglisized of the deed gtvon by Wabenos’ne. to
j M. Cite voret, when he purchased the original recipe,
and had twice assisted the C hies himself through
the tedious manipulatory process of manufacture.
Few white men would credit the length of time
which is consumed in preparing the article for im

is lo subdue every vestige of inflamation, and then

The most peculiar virtue of Hie “Cinq Jours,”
