Morris County, Mendham, N. J., Oc
tober 29, 1840.—Dr. Seth W. Fowle—Dear Sir
This may certify that I am about seventy-five years
of age; was born and have always resided in this
town. In October, 1845, I took cold and for six months
was afflicted with the influenza and the worst cough
I have ever experienced during my whole life. My
self and friends had strong doubts of my ever recov
ering. 1 got a bottle of Schenck’s Syrup; it did me
no good. I then applied to a physician, who prescribed
for me several times, but did not cure me. At last
my physician advised me to take Dr, Wistar’s cele
brated Balaam of W r ild Cherry, which has performed
ao many remarkable cures. I did so, and I believe
that saved my life ; my cough left me entirely, when
I had taken a single bottle. I arn now enjoying good
health. If I ever again have a similar attack, or any
of my family, I shall immediately resort to Dr. Wis
tar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry. The physician who
recommended this Balsam to me, was induced to do
so from his own personal observation and experi
ence in using it. One very strong case of cure of a
young man occurred in this immediate vicinity, of
which Dr. Homan informed me,
EPHRAIM SANDERS.

of this city.
Commercial.
Trt- Weekly Report Saturday, P. M*
There was a good demand on Friday
and sales to some extent were made at a little easier
rates. This morning the news by the Europa was
received and sales of about 800 bales were made at
f a i advance; the business in Cotton is more limi
ted than it would otherwise be from the difficulty of
shipping by the river in its low state—and the bu
siness with Carleston is very limited this year.
EXCHANGE.—Our money market is beginning
to feel the influence of the tight times at the North
and negotiations are more difficult to make than for
some time past.
NEW ORLEANS, Peb. 19, P. M. Cotton. —
The demand has been limited and the sales are con
fined to 2000 bales.

MOBILE, Feb. 15. — Colton. —The difficulty in
the negotiation of exchanges, and the advancing ten

actions of buyers, and there is an increased anxiety
on the part of factors to make sales. Since Friday
last a decline of £c. has been submitted to, and we
now quote middlings a 6 cents. Sales to-day 2000
