Dr. Munson has returned from New York, with
great improvements in Plate Work. By an entirely new
process the Teeth are directly attached to the plate and to
one another, forming a life-like and continuous gum, com
bining great strength beauty and cleanliness. Block work
and every other method is thus entirely superceded, and
must give place to it. Ail who get their Teeth set after
this method, may use them for two months, and if they
do not suit perfectly, return them. The public is respect
fully invited to call and see the work. s2l-dAw

AUGUSTA MARKET.
Saturday, P. M.
COTTON. The market is very quiet, with little or no
thing doing. The Sales of New Cotton, which classes
Good Middling to Middling Fair, are generally made at 16
toltljj cents. The asking price for Fair is 10# cent-.
SA\ ANN AH, Sept. 24. — Cotton. —Anived since the 10th
instant, 1718 bales Upland (697 per Railroad, and >O2 from
Augusta and landings on the river, 11 via Darien, and 3
per wagons and boats,) and 29 do. Sea Islands. The ex
ports tor the same period amount to 1,262 hales Upland,
viz : to New York, 757 bales Uplands; to Philadelphia 25*
bales Upland; to Baltimore, 157 bales Upland, and to
Charleston 90 bales Upland—leaving on hand and on ship
board not cleared, a stock of 2,480 Upland and 59 do.
Sea Island, against 4,404 balesj Upland, and 623 do. Sea
Islands at the same time last year.
There has been a better demand throughout the week
just closed than for several weeks previous. The receipts
which are composed mostlv of small lota of the new crop,
reach since the 16th inst.“ 1,713 bales. The demand on
Friday, Saturday, and Monday, was very limited ; on
Tuesday and AA ednesday more general, and on yesterday
there were several buyers in the market, who purchased
to a fair extent, the sales reaching probably some 300 bales,
the market closed heavy with a downward tendency in
prices. Prices throughout the week have bedn very irreg
ular, and operators differ so much in their views in regard
to the value of the article, that we find it impossible to give
quotations with any degree of accuracy. We publish the
following, accompanying them with the remark that screral
lots have been sold, holders being anxious to realize at
much lower figures. We quote ;
Middling to Good Middling 10 <g-10#
Middling Fair
Fair 11
The sales of the week amount to 837 bales, at the follow
ing rates: Bat 9# . at 10 j 45 at lot* ; 100 at 10# ;69
at 10# ; 66 at 10# ; 162 at 10# ; 209 at 10# ; and 51 at
11 cents.
Sea Islands —The receipts continue very light, and are
bought upon arrival; of our present stock there is none
on sale. The sales for the pass week amount to 30 bales,
at prices ranging from 25® 45 cents, the former figure for
au inferior article of saw-ginned.
Rice —There is nothing doing in this article, the sales be
ing limited almost entirely to the retail trade, we hear of
the sale of 50 casks at $5 100 lbs. There were 1000
bushels of the new crop received here yesterday, which has
not yet been disposed of. The exports of the week were
only 97 casks—all coastwise.
Corn —There is very little demand for this article. The
stock js ample. The sales have been on too limited a scale
to establish prices.
Bagging and Rope —There has been a good business do
ing this week.
Groceries—We have no wholesale transactions to report
in any of the leading articles. There has been an active
business during the week in tilling orders for He interior of
this and the adjoining States. The stocks have been in
creased by the large number of arrivals from the North, and
will compare favorably with those of any Southern market.
Salt —A cargo of Turk’s Island received here la*t week
consisting of 3,030 bushels has changed hands at 15 cts.
bushel. Liverpool is very scarce, and is held at $1,50 <p)
1.60 per sack.

puffed a little, but now I am in earnest, and will challenge
competition. My Patrons will show Pairs, Single Harness
and Saddle Horses, for beauty speed and qualities, against
any body’s Horses from the North, South, East or XVest, for
a hundred dollar plate a show; and we are ready now to
show, an i the exhibition will continue from day to day un
til sold out. I therefore hope that those whe are in want
of Horses will call soon and supply themselves, as expenses
are high and the owners a long ways from home. Please
don’t take my word for the above, but call and see for your
