THE REMEDY IS FOUND AT LAST.
TITT’B PECTORAL. ELIXIII is me of the most
certain and most pleasant Remedies ever offered to the
Public. Its soothing, healing and strengthening virtues dif
fuse themselves so generally throughout the human Lungs,
that it is impossible for Pneumonia, Croup, Bronchitis, Pku
. risy, Asthma, Whooping Cough, Hoarseness, Difficult
> Breathing, Pain in the Side, or Consumption, to withstand
its power. Its effects upon the Depuratory Organs are so
prompt that Nature is enabled to throw off all unhealthy or
impure agencies that tend to disease the delicate substance
. of the Lungs.
From the hundreds of cures that are almost daily report
ed, it would be impossible for the most incredulous to doubt
for a moment. Many who have suffered for years with dis
eases of the Respiratory Organs have been cured by it, and
are sounding its praises abroad.
The PECTORAL ELIXIR is prepared from vegetable sub
stances alone, and its use for years would tend tostrength
-1 en the system, and not like most other Medicines, weaken
it. It is now being used by some of the most eminent Phy
sicians in the country, and by many is considered an infalli
ble remedy in CROUP.
Parents who have youngclhildren, should keep a bottle a
all times, as a single dose will remove any case of t his dis
tressing disease, if given atjthe onset

GROUND FOOD FOR STOCK.
THE Shakers of Waterveliet have said for thirty years
they have been in the habit of grinding their food for
Slock, and find they have, by cooking it, a saving cf one
third.
I, too, Lave been trying experiments, and find four mea
sures of Pea or Corn meal will make eleven measures of
thick mush, and if made of proper consistency, would make
more than twelve.
Let the water be boiling hot, and stir in the mea', and
you will find I am right.
Horses and Mules will do better and last longer. Our sta
ble men have found it out, and say they have had less loss
of life and less sickness than they have ever known since
feeding on ground corn, and a great saving.
Five bushels in the ear will crush out nine bushels.
What a saving. *
The Granite Mills are iu excellent order to do these things
for you with dispatch. The Crusher is new, and only awaits
your Corn to show the benefit to arrive to both partk

DR. 0. WILLIAMS’ COMPOUND PULMONIC BAL
SAM OF WILD CHERRY AND WOOD NAPTHA,
| for the complete cure 01 Coughs, Colds, Influenza, Asthma,
Bronchitis, Spi King of Blood, and all other Lung Complaints
tending to Consumption.
BEAD! READ!!
| This justly celebrated preparation is recommended hy
some of the must learned and intelligent Physicians in the
; country, and will be found superior to any remedy for the
| cure of all diseases of the respiratory organs. All persons
: who have used it for Asthma, Cough, Spitting of Blood,
i Whooping Cough, Croup, or Hives, Consumption, Pain.
I Soreness of the Breast, Difficulty of breathing, and every
I other disease of the Breast and Lungs, attest its superior
j efficacy in the most unqualified terms.
In Pneumonia, a disease which is generally very dan
j gerous and fa“al, it Is confidently believed to be the safest
I and most effective remedy that can be employed. It has
! been known to cure in a short time some of the most dan
! gerous cases o f Pneumonia, after it had baffled every other
j remedy.
Bronchitis, a disease which is annually sweeping thou
; sands to a premature grave under the mistaken name of
i Consumption, is promptly relieved and cured by it. The
i usual symptoms of this disease (Bronchitis,) are Cough,
j Difficulty of Breath ag, Hoarseness, Soreness of the Throat
I or Lungs, Asthma, Lectio Fever, accompanied with Spit
i ting of Phlegm, or matter, and sometimes Blood. It is an
! inflamation of the membrane which lines the inside of the
1 whole of the'wind tubes or a'r vessels which ran through
I every part of the Lungs. Tins Pulmonic Balsam immedi
j ately suppresses the Cough and Pain, subdues the Imfls
i mation and Fever, removes the din cnlty of breathing, by
j producing a free and easy Expectoration, so that a cure is
j soon effected. It always cures in Ast n:a. Two or three
doses will cure the Croup or Hives ol children in a few
j minutes, and tis remarkable how prompt i is in subduing
| the violence of W r hooping Cough, and effect ng a speedy
cure, and many who have been given up by t.:cir Physi
: dans as incurable in Consumption, have been re-sored to
perfect health by it. In fact, as a remedy in Puhrenary
Diseases, no medicine has ever obtained a higher or mere
I deserved reputation, in the short time it has been before
the public. -
This Pulmonic Balsam, if given in the commencement «f
! Pleurisy, Pneumonia, or in acute Rheumatism, in doses
1 large enough to produce a little nausea for some time, (go
ing to bed and covering up warm,) will produce a free ptr
i spiration, which, if continued for two or three hours, will
subdue those diseases at once.

• Sx. Johns, May S, 1-51.
Dr. J. C. Ayer,—Fire' years trial of your CHEE RY PFC

the colds and coughs to which we, in this section, are pecu

in the following cases, but a thousand more:
Stobcrt, Jan. 24i h, 1551.
* Dr. Ayer: In the month of July last I was attacked by a
t violent diarrhoea in the mines of California. 1 returned to
Ban Francisco in hope of receiving benefit from a change
of climate and diet. My diarrhoea ceased, but was follow
| ed by a set ere cough—and much soreness. I finally start
ed for home, but received no benefit from the voyage. My
cough continued to grow worse, and when 1 arrived in New
York, I was at once marked by my acquaintances as a vic
! tim of consumption. I mast confess that 1 saw no sufficient
reason to doubt what my friends ail believed. A? this time
| 1 commenc ?d taking your truly invaluable meeicine with
little expectation of deriving any benefit from its use. You
| would not receive these lines did I not regard it my duty to
state to the afflicted, through you, that my health, in the
space of eight months, is fully restored. I attiibut* it to
the use of your CHERRY PECTORAL.
Yours, truly, Willi am W. Smith.
Washjkgton, Pa., April 12,1343.
Dear Sir ; Feeling that 1 have been spared from a pre
mature grave, through your instrumentality by the provi
dence of G ad, I will take the liberty to express to you my
gratitude.
A Cough, and the alarming symptoms of Consumption
had reduced me too low to leave me anything like a hope,
when my physician brought me a bottle ts your “Pecto
ral.” It seemed to afford immediate relief, anc, now in a
few weeks time has restored me to sound health.
If it will do for others what it has for me, you are cer

Sincerely wishing you every blessing, 1 am, very respect

With such assurance and from such men, no stronger

COSBY’S ANTI-DYSPEPTIC BITTERS.
I >ERHA P 8 there is nothing more calculated todisgush
I the public eye than the innumerable advertisements of
the nostrums that are constantly appearing in the public
prints. All are ready to exclaim, Our souls are sick, ou?
, ears are pa ned with every days reports of ills and speci
. Acs. This slate of the public mind would seem to forbid any
person of delicate mind from sending forth anynewdis-
I cover!es in medicine to the trial of the public: still motives
of delicacy should not prevent us from making known real
' discoveries, which we are confident will benefit cur tellow
men. This latter consideration has prompted the author of
these Bitters to make them known. He knows they are
highly efficacious, for he himself, his wife, and many friends
have given ihem a thorough trial. lie was, for many years,
a confirmed, dyspeptic —so much so that even his recollec
tion was gone, but by the use of these Bitters he has been
restored to perfect health. This has been the case with
many of his friends. The proprietor, in sending forth this
advertisement, addresses those who know him. Me Inis
been, for many years, a resident of Augusta, but at this
time of Hamburg, S. C., at which place he can, at any time
be consulted about the Bitters. They are good in all cases
of diseases of the digestive organs, the symptoms of which
are, indigestion, pain or oppression in the stomach from
food, loss of appetite, flatulency, heart-burn, giddiness in
the head, pain in the side, shortness of breath, lassitude,
general weakness, disturbed sleep, Ac. The composition is
entirely Botanical, and has proved efficacious, where many
celebrated medicines had failed; in support of which he
could give reference to a number of persons, who have
made a trial of it, but deems it unnecessary, ns he is willing
to place it on its own merits. All he asks is for those who
are afflicted with dyspepsia to give it a trial.
The above Bitters can be had at O. COSBY’S Hamburg,
