THE REMEDY IS FOUND AT LAST.
TUTT’B PECTORAL ELIXIR is one of the most
certain and most pleasant Remedies ever offered to the
Public. Its soothing, healing and strengthening virtues dif
fuse themselves so generally throughout the human Lungs,
that it is impossible for Pneumonia, Croup, Bronchitis, Pleu
risy, Asthma, Whooping Cough, Hoarseness, Difficult
Breathing, Pain in the Side, or Consumption, to withstand
its power. Its effects upon the Depuratory Organs are sc
prompt that Nature is enabled to throw off all unhealthy or
impure agencies that tend to disease the delicate substance
of the Lungs.
From the hundreds of cures that are almost daily report
ed, it would be impossible for the most incredulous to doub!
for a moment. Many who have suffered for years with dis
eases of the Respiratory Organs have been cured by it, and
are sounding its praises abroad.
The PECTORAL ELIXIR is prepared from vegetable sub
stances alone, and its use for years would tend to strength
en the system, and not like most other Medicines, weaken
it. It is now being used by some of the most eminent Phy
sicians in the country, at d by many is considered an iofafli
ble remedy in CROUP.
Parents wno have youngclhildren, should keep a bottle a
all times, as a single dose will remove any caee o' this dis
tressing disease, if given atjthe onset

MIRACULOUS CURLS.—People wonder at the
quick efficacy of the R. R. R, Remedies in stopping
pain, removing its causes, and curing the most obstinate
complaints. Yet there is no mystery init—there is nothing
miraculous about it. True, until the R. R. R. Remedies
were introduced, no remedy or medicine was ever known
to stop the most torturing pains in a few seconds, and
allay the most violent Cramps of Cholera, Neuralgia,
Spasms, Ac., in a few minutes. Radway’s Ready Relief
will stop pain instantly, because it produces a counter-ac
tion upon the parts where pain is felt. If the Patient suf
fers from Neuralgia, it immediately acts upon the nerves,
produces a counter irritation, invigorates the nerves, and
imparts vitality to the parts where pain is experienced.
The action of the Relief is quick, and the very moment it
is applied, it begins to counteract the effects produced by
diseased action. If you are the victim of Cholera, it acts
instantly—taken internally, it settles the stomach and
allays all painful irritation and sickness, it infuses heat into
the blood, and its warm and healthful influence thrills
through every •mrtion of the body; it neutralizes the poi
sonous malaria of Cholera and checks its progress. Ap
plied ex! ernally, it allays (. amps and Spasms, and restores
the cold-cramped, and a" cost lifeless victim, to life and
health. If you are troubled with Sick Headrche, the Ready
Relief taken internally will neutralize the acid of the
stomach, make the stomach sweet and pure, and the
breath fragrant; externally, it will produce a counter ac
tion on the scalp and refresh the senses. This, then, is all
the mystery about the action of R. K. Relief; it does not
lie in the action of the Relief, but in the science of its
chemical and pharmaceutical combination. So with each
of the other R. R. R. Remedies. The Resolvent acts in
like manner upon the blood, and the diseased deposits, re
novating and resolving away from the system all scrofu
lous humors and poisonous deposits.
RAD WAY’S REGULATORS.—For regulating the organs
of the system and securing a regular action of each ; free
ing the bowels from all retained humors, assisting the sto
mach, aiding the digestive organs in their functional du
ties, the liver to secrete its bile, and the kidneys and blad
der their urine; the bowels to discharge their burden, and
the skin to emit a free and healthy perspiration. Such are
the effects the R. R. R. Remedies have upon the system,
and the mystery of their curing the sick so quick.
R. R. R. Remedies are for sale by Druggists generally.

ever thought that every barrel of Flour brought from the
North deprives the South of a quantity of food for those of
moderate means, who can now buy Flour from me at $4.00

price of provisions for Negroes and Stock, by giving your

SEWING MACHINE.
SINGER’S Patent Straight Needle Perpendicular Action
SEWING MACHINE. Patented August 12th, 1851.
Improvements, which render this machine a perfect instru
ment, patented April 13th, 1862. To this invention, be
fore the great improvements were applied, the first premi
ums were awarded at the last New York State Fair, and Fair
of the American Institute. As now improved, these ma
chines are infinitely ahead of competition, and the inven
tion is unquestionably the most valuable one now before
the public, not excepting the Planing Machine, Colt’s Pis
tols, or any other. All kinds of Sewing, on either cloth or
leather, done by these machines in most beautiful style, so
it cannot rip or ravel, und with immense saving of labor.
The great shoe manufacturers at Lynn, and other places,
use these machines. The extensive saddlery establishments
of Newark, N. J., and Bridgeport, Ct., use them; and the
manufacturers of clothing and working tailors in many
parts of the country have introduced and are employing
them with perfect success:. No Sewing Machine previous to
this was of any practical value, or stood the test of actual
use; and no machine for stitching can ever be made that
will be useful, without infringing on I. M. Singer's Patents.
The public are cautioned not to buy other machines con
taining I. M. Singer’s Improvements, as all infringers will
be promptly and vigorously prosecuted. Price of Machines,
with all apparatus complete for immediate use, including the
right to use under the patents, $125. Orders sent by mail,

GROUND FOOD FOR STOCK.
THE Shakers of Waterveliet have said for thirty years
they have been in the habit of grinding their food for
Stock, and find they have, by cooking it, a saving of one
third.
I, too, have been trying experiments, and find four mea
sures of Pea or Corn meal will make eleven measures of
thick mush, and if made of proper consistency, would make
more than twelve.
Let the water be b filing hot, and stir in the meal, and
you will find I am right.
Horses and Mules will do better and last longer. Our sta
ble men have found it out, and say they have had less loss
of life and less sickness than they have ever known since
feeding on ground corn, and a great saving.
Five bushels in the ear will crush c’ > nine bushels.
What a saving.
The Granite Mills are in excellent order to do these things
for you with dispatch. The Crusher is new, and only awaits
vom Corn to show the benefit to arrive to both parties,

DR. C. WILLIAMS’ COMPOUND PULMONIC BAL
SAM OF WILD CHERRY AND WOOD NAPTHA,
for the complete cure ol Coughs, Colds, Influenza, As thma,
Bronchitis, Spitting o:' Blood, and all other Lung Comi taints
tending to Consumption.
S READ! READ 11
This justly celebrated preparation is recommended by
some of the most learned and intelligent Physicians in the
country, and will be found superior to any remedy for the
cure of all diseases o f the respiratory organs. All persons
who have used it for Asthma, Cough, Spitting of Blood,
Whooping Cough, Croup, or Hives, Consumption, Pain,
Soreness of the Breast, Difficulty of breathing, and every
other disease of the Breast and Lungs, attest its superior
efficacy in the most unqualified terms.
In Pneumonia, a disease which is generally very dan
gerous and fatal, it is confidently believed to be the safest
and most effective remedy that can be employed. It has
been known to cure in a short time some of the most dan
gerous cases of Pneumonia, after it had baffled every Other
remedy.
Bronchitis, a disease which is annually sweeping thou
sands to a premature grave under the mistaken name of
Consumption, is promptly relieved and cured by it. The
usual symptoms of this disease (Bronchitis,) are Cough,
Difficulty of Breathing, Hoarseness, Soreness of the Throat
or Lungs, Asthma, Hectic Fever, accompanied with Spit
ting of Phlegm, or matter, and sometimes Blood. It is an
inflamation of the membrane which lines the inside of the
whole of the wind tubes or air vessels which run through
every part of the Lungs. This Pulmonic Balsam immedi
ately suppresses the Cough and Pain, subdues the Imfla
mation and Fever, removes the difficulty of breathing, by
producing a free and easy Expectoration, so that a cure is
soon effected. It always cures in Ast. ma. Two or three
doses will cure the Croup or Hives ot children in a few
minutes, and it is remarkable how prompt i is in subduing
the violence of Whooping Cough, and effect ng a speedy
cure, and many who have been given up by their Physi
cians as incurable in Consumption, have been restored to
perfect health by it. In fact, as a remedy in Pulmonary
Diseases, no medicine has ever obtained a higher or mere
deserved reputation, in the short time it has been before
the public.
This Pulmonic Balsam, if given in the commencement o f
Pleurisy, Pneumonia, or in acute Rheumatism, in doses
large enough to produce a little nausea for some lime, (go
ing to bed and covering up warm,) will produce a free per
spiration, which, if continued for two or three hours, will
subdue those diseases at once.

AYER’S CHERRY PECTORAL^
FOR THE CURE of Coughs, Colds. Hoarseness,Bron
chitis, Whooping-Cough, Croup, Asthma, and Ccn
sumption.
Os all the nnmerons medicines extant, (and some of them
valuable) for the cure of pulmonary complaints, nothing
‘ has ever been found which could compare in its effects
with this Preparation. Others cure sometimes, but at all
’ times and in all diseases of the Lungs and Throat where
’ medicine can give relief, this will do it. It is pleasant to
take, and perfectly safe in accordance with the directions.
We do not advertise for the information of those who have
tried it, but those who have not. Families that have known
I its value will not be without it, and by its timely use, they
are secure from the dangerous consequences of Coughs
and Colds which neglected, ripen into fatal consumption,
The Diploma of the Massachusetts Institute was award
" ed to this preparation by the Board of Judges in Septem
’ her, 1847; also, the Medals of the three great Institutes of
■ Art, in this country; also, the Diploma of the Ohio Insti
' tude at Cincinnati., has been given to the CHERRY PEC
-1 TORAL, by their Government in consideration of its extra
-1 ordinary excellence and usefulness in curing affections of
i the Lungs and Throat.
J Read the following opinion founded on the long experi

St. Johns, May S, ISSI.
Dr. J. C. Ayer, —Five years trial of yffiir CHERRY PEC
TORAL in my practice, lias proven what I foresaw from
its composition, must be true, that it eradicates and cures
the colds and coughs to which we, in this section, are pecu

I think its equal has not yet been discovered, nor do I

Sudbdky, Jan. 24th, 1851.
Dr. Ayer : In the month of July last I was attacked by a
violent diarrhoea in the mines of California. 1 returned to
San Francisco in hope of receiving benefit from a change
of climate and d ; et. My diarrhoea ceased, but was follow
ed by a severe cough—and much soreness. I finally start
ed for home, but received no benefit from the voyage. My
ough continued to grow woise, and when I arrived in New
York, I was at once marked by my acquaintances as a vic
tim of consumption. I must confess that I saw no sufficient
reason to doubt what my friends all believed. At this time
I commenced taking your truly invaluable medicine with
little expectation of deriving any benefit from its use. You
would not receive these lines did I not regard it my duty to
state to the afflicted, through you, that my health, in the
space of eight months, is fully restored. I attribute it to
the use of your CHERRY PECTORAL.
Yours, truly, William W. Smith.
Washington, Pa., April 12,1648.
Dear Sir : Feeling that 1 have been spared from a pre
mature grave, thraugh your instrumentality by the provi
dence of God, 1 will take the liberty to express to you my
gratitude.
A Cough, and the alarming symptoms of Consumption,
had reduced me too low to leave me anything like a hope,
when my physician brought me a bottle of your “ Pecto
ral.” It seemed to afford immediate relief, and now in a
few weeks time has restored me to sound health.
If it will do for others what it has for me, you are cer
tainly one of the benefactors of mankind.
Sincerely wishing you every blessing, I am ; very respect
fully, yours, John J. Clarke,
Rector of St. Peter's Church.
With such assurance and from such men, no stronger
proof can be adduced unless it be from its effects upon truJ.

COSBY’S ANTI-DYSPEPTIC BITTERS.
PERHAPS there is nothing more calculated to disgu;it
the public eye than the innumerable advertisements of
the nostrums that are constantly appearing in the public
prints. All are ready to exclaim, Our souls are sick, our
ears are pained with every days reports of ills and speci
fics. This state of the public mind would seem to forbid ar y
person of delicate mind from sending forth any new dis
coveries in medicine to the trial of the public: still motives
of delicacy should not prevent us from making known real
discoveries, which we are confident will benefit our lellow
men. This latter consideration has prompted the author of
these Bitters to make them known. He knows they are
highly efficacious, for he h imself, his wife, and many friends
have given them a thorough trial. He was, for many years,
a confirmed dyspeptic—so much so that even his recollec
tion was gone, but by the use of these Bitters he has been
restored to perfect health. This has been the case wi ih
many of his friends. The proprietor, in sending forth this
advertisement, addresses those who know him. He has
been, for many years, a resident of Augusta, but at this
time of Hamburg, S. C., at which place he can, at any time,
be consulted about the Bitters. They are good in all cases
of diseases of the digestive organs, the symptoms of which
are, indigestion, pain or oppression in the stomach from
food, loss of appetite, flatulency, heart-burn, giddiness in
the head, pain in the side, shortness of breath, lassitude,
general weakness, disturbed sleep, Ac. The composition is
entirely Botanical, and has proved efficacious, where many
celebrated medicines had failed; in support of which le
could give reference to a number of persons, who have
made a trial of it, but deems it unnecessary, as he is willing
to p’ace it on its own merits. All he asks is for those who
are afflicted with dyspepsia to give it a trial.
The above Bitters can be had at 0. COSBY’S Hamburg,
S. C , and at Dr. WM. H. TUTT’S Drug Store, Broad street,
