-jy Oiygen»ttd Bitter*.—Certificate from a well-
Vnotro ciri"*" Os fit. J okns, New Brunswick.
Exchargb Hotel, Boston, Nov 4, 1860.
Gentlemen— It is with great pleasure that I inform you
the decided benefit I received from the use of the OXY
Sr VAT ED BITTERS, which you recommended to me some
TZI wee ks since. Yon know that I was very much d bili
tated at the time, and unable to walk but a short distance,
without stopping to regain my strength I had been sick
Ii ionr and was suffering under such a complication of dis
!»<«* i had no ftdth that any medicine whatever could do
**, -,’uch good. The effect of your Bitters upon my system
w at surprising. I was greatly improved tu a few hours,
in three days, felt comparatively well. I have since
«?taed very'rapidly in strength and flesh, and have every
•turned of recovering my former health, which I never
again o enjoy.
e for some years past resided in the Province of New
TtruQSwick. My health has been declining for two or three
past, and about nine months since, I was prostrated
h* a sever* At of sickness, which confined me to my bed
fn three or four months, during which time, my life was
a Daired of by myself and friends; but by the skill and at
t niion of my physicians (for which 1 can never be suffi
*• ntlv thankful, under Divine Providence,) I recovered my
hMithsofar as to be able to visit Boston. I was not per
*ic‘a.i-b\y bene fitted, however, by the change, until I c>m-
Jj taking your Bitters. The seat ol my disease was
liver, accompanied by extreme prostration,nervous.
lD s »nd general debility, cold extremities, and a very di-
circulation, which I was obliged to keep up by the
m ‘ ot alcoholic stimulants, only getting temporary relief,
feeling, worse when without them. Your Bitters immedi
ately restored the circulation, giving tone and energy to
the whole system. I consider myself in a better staie of
health now than I have enjoyed for three years past, i
have used but one bottle of medicine as yet, but shall con
puue tie use of them, fully believing, as I do, that they
wifi restore me to perfect health. „
I am, gentlemen, with much respect,
’ Your obedient servant,
FREDERIC J. AYERS.

OBITUARIES.
Dn d at the residence of its parents, in Clark county, Ga.
on the stli inst., AN'K VV ARIIEN, infant daughter of Gen.
John \\., a-'.’ .rs. Celestia Stroud, aged 4 months and 8
days.
e had this first-born pledge of love rejoiced, in the
glau sunshine of the world, and learned to grasp the tint
ed flower in its tiny hands, ere the rustling of Angel pin
ions round its be.!,announced their sail mission on the earth.
As they fatted by, the full cup of pafental pride and joy,
was dashed of its sparkling waters, and bereaved affection,
o’er its dying child, might well exclaim,
My God ! w e would not pine at aught,
“ Thy justice should decree,
But spare this leaf, which fluttering hangs,
Alone, upon life’s tree, —
For she’s our own -Eolian harp,
Which as the storms rush by,
Draws music from the tempest cloud
And sweetness from a sigh.”
But the commissioned Angels heeded not, too pure, too
bright for earth, they sang, and as the choral hymn died
on their seraphic lips, they placed the sleeping innocent
on a couoa of Amaranth flowers, and exultant bore it to
the skits.
May the guardian spirit of their sainted child still hover
o’er the earth, planting the flowers of hope and resignation
within the parents hearts, alluring them by the mild radi
ance of ils cherub face into the way of life, and whisper
ever in their ears,
You have a treasure gone, not lost,
It may be found in Heaven. L. H. B.
Died ar his residence in Richmond county, on the Sth
inst., NICHOLAS MURPHY, aged sixty seven years. lie
had been a member of the Methodist Church more than
forty years, and adorned his profession by a godly walk
and conversation. He lived and died “an honest man—
the noblest work of God ” “ His emhly house of this tab
ernacle is dissolved, but he hath a budding of God—an
house, not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens.”

Weekly Report Tuesday, P. M
COTTON.—The week closed to-day, has been one o!
unusual firmness in the market. The offerings have at nc
time been large, but the demand has been fair and steady,
and prices regular and full, especially for the better class
of Cottons, while the lower descriptions have been little
sought after. The market closed firm this evening at 9)(
to 9)4 cents for Middling Fair to Fully Fair.
Since the close of business here this evening, the Amer
ca’s accounts have come to hrtnd, which will probably
impart additional o’.. -ss t« the market and, perhaps
improve prices. They will ue l end under the Telegraph
h?ad.

during the past week have been engaged in a very fuir

scarce and holders have advanced their rates a little, with
which our quotations correspond.

will show, hard is a shade lower. Fish has materially ad

the current rates. The supply of Flour continues abundant,
and prices have undergone no change except for City

good and our quotations are fully maintained.

RHEUMATISM CAN BE CURED!
■\ATE now have for sale that celebrated remedy, MOR-
V V TIMOUK’S RHEUMATIC COMPOUND and BLOOD
PURIFIER, which has gained such great popularity whtre
ever introduced, as the only tpeciflc known for the ef
fectual cure of this painful disease. This remedy has al
ready cured thousands of cases, comprising every seeming
form of this complaint, from the inflammatory (acute)
lorui, attended with swellings and enlargement of the joints,
to old chronic cases of from ten to twenty and thirty
years' standing. Those who had for yean resorted to the
various celebrated springs, had tried all the liniment* and
external applications, and been under treatment of some
of the ablest physicians both in this country and Europe,
and were pronounced incurable; still, after all these ef
forts had failed, this compound has cured them. Many
who have been cripples, either hobbling upon crutches or
coufined to their beds for years, certify to a complete and
permanent cure by the use of this remedy.
We have not space, in a newspaper advertisement, to In
sert but a small portion of the accumulated evidence In its
behalf. This evidence comes from sources which must in
spire confidence in every mind. The conductors of high
toned public journals have published to the world Its won
derful and beneficial effects ujion themselves and those
around them, and in some instances speak of hundred* of
cures. Physicians have resorted to it, and certify that,
even in extreme cases, where consultations had been held,
and they had decided that there were no hope* of recov~
try, even then, they procured this medicine and adminis
tered it, and it effected a complete cure. Ministers of va
rious denominations have written and published wbat it
has done for themselves and their friends; while mer
chants, officers, mechanics, and private citisens, have fur
nished volumes of evidence of the highest character, such
as accompanies no other preparation in America.
We most respectfully ask those who are afflicted to send
to the agent in their vicinity and get a circular, and read
tlie letters and certificates of Rev. Jas. Mitchell, R-v. N.
G. Berrvman, Rev. J. H. Linn, Rev. J. M. Kelly, Rev. E.
A. Colburn, and other clergymen; while we add the names
of Hon. J. Smith, late President of the Bank of the State
of Missouri; Geo. O. Atherton, officer in the Bank In St.
Louis; Messrs. Jas. H. Eddy, 8. Downing, A. Holland, 0.
W. Stone, J. W. Christy, Joseph Bouthack, with other
prominent merchants of St. Louis, as also vast numbers of
other citisens.
This is home evidence, and these are living tcilne***»,
where this great remedy was first introduced, and where
many thousands have been cured during the last two
years. The proprietors have now opened tneir Great Cen
tral Office at No. 1 Barclay street, (Astor House,) In the
city of New York, where all orders for this medicine wU
be promptly attended to.
