CHRONICLE & SENTINEL.
, LABOR.
bt mrc. FRAseta oracorx.
Pause not to dreatn of the future before us !
Pause not to weep the wild cares that come o'er us!
Uarlt—how creation’s deep musical chorus
Unintermitting goes up into Heaven!
Never the ocean wave falters in flowing;
Never the little seed stops in its growing;
More and n ore richly the rose heart keeps growing;
’Till from its nourishing stem it is riven.
“ Labor is Worship”—the robin is singing,
“ Labor is Worth p”—the wild bee is ringing;
Listen ' that eloquent whisper unspringing,
Speaks to thy soul from out nature’s heart.
Prom the dark cloud flows the life-giving show er;
Prom the rough sod grows the soft breathing flower;
From the small insect the rich coral bower,
Only man in the plan, e’er shrinks from his part.
Labor is life —’till the still water falieth ;
Idleness ever deepaircth, bewaileth ;
Keep the watch wound, for tire dark rust assaileth'
Flowers droop and die in the stillness of noon.
Labor is glory ! —‘he flying cloud lightens,
Only the waving wing changes and brightens;
Idle hearts only the dark future frightens,
Play the sweet key s wouldst thou keep them in tune!
Labor is rest from the sorrows that greet;
Rest from all petty vexations that meet us ;
Rest from sin promptings that ever entreat us,-
ltest from world syrens that lure u« to 111.
Work—and pure slumbers shall wait on thy pillow,
Work—thou shall ride over care’s coming billow,
Lie not down wearied 'neath woe’s weeping willow !
Work with a stout heart and resolute will!
Droop not, tho’ shame, sin and anguish are around thee!
Bravely Ming off the cold chain that has bound thee !
Look on yen pure Heaven smiling beyond thee!
Rest not content in thy darkness—a clod 1
Work fojr some good, be it ever so slowly;
Cherish, some flower b j it ever so lowly ;’
Labor—all labor is noble and holy;
Let thy great deeds be thy prayer to thy God.
Life in the Tiu pigs.—Mr.Butler, a pleasant lec
turer on Eutomologry, in a lecture delivered at
Louisville, thus describes some of tho luxuries oj
the torrid zone:
“The bote rou?o lays the foundation of a tre
mendous ulcer. In a moment you are covered
•with ticks. Chigoes bury themselves in your flesh,
and ha’ch a colony of youa# chigoes in a low
1 ours. They will not live together, but every
chigoe sets ip a separate ulcer, and has his own
private portion of pus. Flies gel entry into your
mouth, into your eyes, into your nose; you eat
flies, drink flies, and breathe flies. Lizards, cock
roaches, and snakes, get into your bed ; ants cat
up the books; scorpions sting you on the foot.
Everything bites, stings, or bruises; every second
ol your cxisti nee you arc wounded by some piece of
animal life that nobody lias ever seen before, exept
Swammerdam and Morium. An insect with eleven
legs is swimming In your tea cup, a nondescript
with nine wings is struggling in the small beer, or
a caterpillar with several dozen eyes in his belly is
hastening over tho bread and butter! All nature
is alive, and seems to be gathering alt her entomo
logical hosts to eat you up,, as you are , standing,
out of your coat, waisteo;ft and breeches. Such are
the tropics. All this reconciles us to our dews,
fogs, vapor, and drizzle—‘o our apothecaries, rush
ing about with gargles and tinctures—to our old
British constitutional coughs, sore throats, and
swelled faces.” ,

£• R. R.
MIRACULOUS CUHLH.—People wonder at the
quick efficacy of the R. R. 8. Remedies in stopping
pain, removing its causes, and curing the most obstinate
complaints. Yet there is no mystery in it —there is nothing
miraculous about it. True, until the R. R. 11. Remedies
were introduced, no remedy or medicine was ever known
to stop the most torturing pains in a few seconds, and
allay the most violent Cramps cf Cholera, Neuralgia,
Spasms, Ac., in a few minutes. Had way’s Ready Relief
Will stop pain instantly, because it produces a counter-ac
tion upon the parts where pain U felt. If the Patient suf
fers from Neuralgia, it immediately acts upon the nerves
produces a counter irritation, invigorates the nerves and
imparts vitality to the parts where pain is experienced.
The action of the Relief is quick, and the very moment it '
is applied, it begins to counteract tiie effects produced by
diseased action. If you are the Vrntim of Cholera, it acts
instantly—taken internally, it settles the stomach and 1
allays all painful irritation and sickness, it infuses heat into '
the blood, and its warm and healthful influence thrills 1
through every pori-onof the body; it neutralizes the poi
sonous malaria of Cholera and checks its progress An- 1
plied ex'erna'ly, it allays Cramps and Spasms, and restores !
the cold-cramped, and almost lifeless victim, to life and '
health. If you are troubled with Sick Headache, the Ready j
belief taken internally will neutralize the acid of the
stomach, make the stomach sweet and pure, and the
bieathfragrant; externally, it will produce a counter ac- !
tion on the acaip and refresh the senses. This, then, is all '
the mystery about the action of R. R. Relief; it does not
lie in the action of the Relief, but in the science of its
chemical and pharmaceutical combination. So with each
of the other R. U. R. Remedies. The Resolvent acts in
like manner upon the blood, and the diseased deposits, re
novating nnd resolving away from the system all scrofu
lous humors and poisonous d-*, osits. i
RAHWAY’S REGULATORS.—For regulating the organs
of the system and securi ,r a regular action of each; free
ing the bowels from a r< tained humors, assisting the sto
mach, aiding the di r c five organs in their functional du
ties, the liver tos; i etc its bile, and the kidneys and blad
der their urine- 1 1 e bowels to discharge their burden, and
the skin to tin ' a free and healthy perspiration. Such are
the effects the R. R. It. Remedies have upon the system,
and the mystery of their curing the sick so quick,
li. It. R. Remedies ate for sale by Druggists generally.

| | )KKHAUS there is nothing more calculated to ulsguit
f the public eye than tiie innumerable advertisements of
tiie nostrums that are constantly appearing in the public
prints. Ail are ready to exclaim, Our souls are sick, our
ears are pained with every days reports of ills and speci
fics. This state of the public mind would seem to forbid say
person of delicate mind from sending forth any new dis
coveries in medicine to the trh.l of the public: still motives
of delicacy should not prevent us from making known real
discoveries, which we are confident will benefit our leliuw
men. This latter consideration has prompted the author of
these Bitters to male them known. 11c knows they are
highly efficacious, for ho himself, his wife, and many friends
have given them a thorough trial, lie was, for many years,
a confirmed dyspeptic—So much so that even his recollet
li; :i was gone, but by the use of those Bitters he has been
restored to perfect health. This has been the case with,
many of his friends. The proprietor, in sending forth tins
advertisement, addresses those who know him. He las
been, for many years, a resident of Augusta, but at this
time of Hamburg, B. C.,at which place he can, at any fiire,
be consulted about the Bitters. They are good in all eases
of diseases of the digestive srgans, the symptoms of which
are, indigestion, pain or oppression in the stomach from
food,loss of appetite, flatulency, heart-burn, giddiness in
the head, j>ain »n the side, shortness of breath, lassitude,
general weakness, disturbed sleep, Ac. The composition is
entirely Botanical, and lias proved efficacious, where many
celebrated medicine* had failed; in support of which he
coodd give reference to a number of persons, who have
made a triai of it, but dcepis it unnecessary, as he is willing
to pdice it on its own merits. A.U he asks is for those who
are I’.'i.scteu with dyspepsia to give it a trial.

From the hundreds of cures that are almost daily report
