Offick of this Fashion Li.sk. ) Augusta, April 15, 1554. f TIIK subscriber would respectfully call the attention f the Merchants throughout Georgia, Tennessee, Ala bama and South Carolina, to the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and cheap route for the transportation of their Merchandise. By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with thoseof the Bouth Carolina, and Central, and Waynesboro’ Rail roads, it will show a result in favor of this route of from 80 j to 50 per cent., generally, and in some instances a greater i per centage. By this route a merchant receives each shipment of his Goods together; they are not retailed to him as they gen- are by Railroads connecting with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached to each package. In addition to the present force of this line, another new Boat, of light draught of water, will be added during the coming summer. These boats will leave Savannah after the discharge of the New York and Philadelphia Swam- | ships, twice or three times a week, delivering those Goods at this point in FIVE DAYS. From the present low tariff of this line a deduction of Ti>4 percent, wil be allowed on all bills from this date. Give the river more business, and a cheaper freight yet awaits you. Allgoodsfrom the seaboard should be directed to M. A. COHEN, Savannah, and produce from the interior to JNO. A. MOORE, Augusta. To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, aj well as the Cotton Merchants, and dealers generally, on the line of Railroads through Georgia ami Tennessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern markets, this route offers very favorable inducements. Tofacilitate shipments, as well as to prevent errors, bills of laadingshould be forwarded to M. A. Cohen, at Savan nah, for all goods fromseabord. JNO. A MOORE. Incase of low river, all goods consigned to this line, will be forwarded by Central, andconnectmg Railroads. apl6 T. WYNN'S IMPROVED PARENT BREAST COTTON GIN—OPEN TO THE WORLD—SSO PITCHER. THE FIRE-KING SAFES AGAIN TRIUMPHANT 1 SIOOO will be paid, if reliable evidence is shown, where they ever failed to protect valuables from fire, whereas other makers’Safes have proved utterly worthless in va rious accidental and experimental tests, some of which have occurred recently. Read the following from Messrs. A. McClure A Ow., wholesale and retail dealers in Drugs, Medicines, Ac.: Albany, July 27,1852. This is to certify, that on the 23d of July, 1852, our en tire stock, composed of Turpentine, Alcohol, Oil, Paints, Medicines, Ac., was consumed by fire; so rapid and severe was the fire, that we were unable to close our Safe, until Mr. Pohlmaii subsequently entered at the peril of his life, and closed the doors. On forcing the safe open, after all this exposure to the fire, which made us fearful for the safetyof its contents, its valuables were found uninjured! We have so much confidence in the security of the Fire- King, that we shall immediately replace it by another. A. McClckk A Co. Anotiimi Test. —This is to certify, that on the 25th of September last, we purchased of J1 D. Rice, Esq., one of Mr. J. M. It. Davidson’s “ Fire-kings,” (No. 4, Single Flange); that on the 14th November past,it was subject ed to a very severe test, in the burning of our warehouse, in which was stored a large quantity of whiskey and other combustible material. On opening our safe, we found all our papers, consisting of bills, letters and receipts, perfect and entirely legible. Bradley A Co. Dunkirk, December 4,1852. J. M. H. Davidson’s Fire-King (safes, In Experi mental and Accidental Fires, challenge Com petition. This is to certi'y, that on the 7th of May, 1851,1 pur- I chased of J. M. B. Davidson, a No. 7, Single Flange Safe, and that the same was subjected to a severe test, on the ISth of December, 1851. Aftei fire was extinguished its contents (books and papers,) were examined, and found to be perfectly preserved, not a leaf of my books being scorched. P. J. Claasskn, Importer > f Wines,Segars, Ac., Broadway, Albany. After an examination of P. J. Claassi n’s Safe and pa pers, we are convinced of the superiority o Davidson’s Safes over all others. U. L.
