A VOICE FROM THE MINISTRY,

warned in time before it is too late!
A letter from a distinguished Minister of the Methodist
Epi-copal Church, the Rev. Philip Tuggle, late Presiding
E aer, residing at Du hamsville, Tenr.
Dr. C. Williams—Dear Sir;—Having given your ‘'Pul
monic Balsam ■ f Wild Cterry and Wood Naptha,” a fair
tria',l cannot withhold exprts-ing to you my decided
opini in iliat it U the best cough remedy I have ever used.
1 wts laboring under a bad cough for some four or five
mouths, accompanied with a very sore throat, pain in the
breast, un i much difficulty in breathing, which was ag
gravated by exertion in my ministerial duties, and after
trying several other medicines,l was advised to try ycur
preparation. I did so, and lam much pleased to say it
afforded me prompt and efficient relief, and by the time I
had taken two bottles of your Balsam, I was entirely
cured, and lam now in perfect nealth; and I am really
in’; rested with the opinion that it is the best medicine
now in use. Hoping that it may be extensively introduced
throughout the country, and thereby be the means of alle

The HYDROMAGEN is a va’uable discovery for pro
tecting the feet from damp or cold, and therefore a nre
ver.iative of many Lung diseases, withoirt any doctoring
whatever. The Hjdromagen is in the form of a sole, and
worn inside the boot or shoe. Its medicated character is
a powerful antidote to disease.
Gentlemen it will be found agreeable, warm, and
healthy, to wear in the coldest or rainiest weather, ms the
foot cannot > ecome wet if the Hvdromagen is inserted
Laciiea may wear the lightest soled Boots or Shoes in the
most inclement weather with impunity; while Consump
tion, so prevalent among the young of our country, may be
thwarted by their general adoption. They entirely super
sede over-shoe*, as the latter cause the feet to perspire in
a very unhealthy manner; and, beside?, are net dange
rous wear to pedestrians in icy weather, like India Rub
bers. While the latter cause the feet to appear extremely
large, the Hydromagen, being a mere thin slice of Cork
prepared, peculiarly placed inside, does not increase the
size of the boot, or cause the foot to appear untidv To
Children they are extremely valuable, as they may en
gage in exer ise with comfort and healthy effects. Their
expanse is so slight as to scarce need menti n; besi ‘es,
those who patronize them wil) flad their yearly doctor's
bills much diminished thereby.
As the Hydromagen is becoming more known, its sale is
increasing to an almost incredible extent. Last year in
London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow,
Leeds, Dublin, Paris, Antwerp, Hamburgh and Berlin, our
sales reached 1,782,460 pairs of Cork Soles. This year the
number w.li far surpass that.

THE CHEST.
QIH ASTLEY COOPER, HAIIT., M. I)., the emi-
IO neut Medical Practit oner, has left a valuable legacy
to the world in hi 3 great preventative of Consumption, and
unfailing cure for Puhnonary Diseases, without the use of
Medicine. Sir A. C., Bait., invented and advised the use
of the MEDICATED FUR CHEST PROTECTOR, to a i
persons of a'i ages and conditions, as a certain and a s ue
shield avainst those fearful diseases, Consumption, Bron
chitis, Asthma, Coughs, Colds and other affiicti ms of the
Lungs, which arise from the exposed state of the chest, ac
cording to fashion, and the continual changes of our cli
mate.
“ The Protector ” is simply a chemically prepared Fur,
lined with silk ; nd pa ded, which, suspended from the
neck, covers the chest, in so agreeable a manner that, once
worn, it becomes a necessity and a comfort.
“ The Protector,” although but recent y introduced into
America is nuking rapid progress through the U. States,
the Canadas,South America, and -be West Indies. Itha
for a long time been a staple article in England and on the
continent of Europe, while it has grown in many countries
to the position of an article of dres .
To demonstrate these facts enquire of any English resi
dent in your vicinity of Ins knowledge < f the beneficial ef
fects of wearing the Protector, without recourse to doctor
ing of any kind. The cost of wearing these articles is a
mere trifle, and one will last some years. No one who
values the health oi himself or ITs fanrly will be without
them. The Hospitals in ibis country are rot alone »ecom
moDding them, but rapidly introducing them. Ilarcourt,
Bradley k Co., of Londo i,acd Manchester, England, were
original y entrusted with the manuiacture of the Protec
tors, by ilie lamented Dr. Coopc, and contin e to manu
