PATENT MEDICINES
DR. LITTLE’S
VERMIFUGE.
In LARGE Bottles and Vials.
Nothing else Is required to relieve children of
Worms; and besides being one of the cheapest and
nest Vermlfngos ever offered to the pnblio. It» fre
|ueut u»6 in families will save mueli trouble and
ixpense, as well as the lives of many children—for
eight out of every ten casee generally require it
LITTLE’S
ANODYNE COUGH DROPS.
J certain cure for Colds, Coughs, Bronchitis,
Asthma, Pain in the Breast: also Croup,
Whooi>ing Coughs, Ac., Ao.,
amongst Children.
This is a pleasant medicine to take, produjing im
mediate relief, and In nine out Os ten cases a prompt
cure. It exercises the most controlling Influence
over Coughs and Irritation of the Lungs of any re
medy known, often stopping the most violent in a
few hours, or at most in a day or two. Many cases
thought to be decidedly consumptive, have been
promptly cured by using a few bottles. As anodyne
expectorant, without astringlng the bowels, it stands
paramount to ail cough mixtures.
LITTLE’S
FRENCH MIXTURE.
This is prepared from a French Recipe (in the
forms of No. 1 and 2; the first for the acute, and
No. 2 for the chronio stage,) and from its unexampled
success is likely to supersede every other remedy
for the cure of diseases of the Kidneys and Bladder,
Gonorrhoeal, Blennorrheeal, and Leuchorrhmal or
Fluor Albns affections. This extensive compound
combines properties totally different In taste and
character from any thing to be found in the United
States Pharmacopoeia ; and in point of safety and effi
ciency is not rivalled in America.
LITTLE’S
RINGWORM Si TETTER OINTMENT.
FOKTIS, No. B.
Hundreds of cases of Chronic Tetters, Scald Heads,
and discuses of the skin generally, have been cored
by this remedy; and since the introduction of the
No. 2 preparation (being stronger) scarcely a case
has been found that it will not effectually eradicate
in a short time. For the cure of Cancerous Sores
and Ulcers it is applied in the form of plasters, and
Is almost infallible.
In more than two hundred places In Georgia, and _
in the Southern States, they are to be had ; and as
there are scamps about who are counterfeiting his
remedies, by palming off their own or something
else, by using the same or similar names (for no pa
tent Is wanted or secured amid the absurd patents of
the day,) let all be cautioned to look well for the
signature of the Proprietor, thus :
and also his name blown into the glass of each bottle.

TH E LI VE R
miGORATOR
PREPARED BY DR. SANFORD.
Compounded entirely from Cams,
IB one of the best purgatives and Liver Medicines now
before the public, that acts as a Cathartic, easier,
milder, and more effectual than any other medicine
known. It is not on’y a Cathartic, but a Liver remedy,
acting first on the Liver to eject Its morbid matter, then
on the stomach and bowels to carry off that matter, thu
accomplishing! wo purposes effectually, without any o
the painful feelings experienced in the operations o
most Cathartics. It strengthens the system at the same
time that it purges it; and when taken daily in moder
ate doses, will strengthen and bnild it up with unusual
ragidlty
The LIVER is of the 'principal regulator* of the
- human body; and when it Qj performs its functions well
the powers of the system P*i are fully developed. The
stomach Is almost entirely dependea ton the healthy
action of the Liver for the W proper performance of it*
functions when the atom T" aeh is at fault, the bowels
are at fault, and the tv ho. e system suffers in conse
quence of one organ—the i Live: —having ceased »
do its duty. For the diseas es of that organ, one of the
proprietors ha* made it ’ his study, in a practice of
more than twenty years, to find some remedy where
with to counteract the many derangements to
which it is liable.
To prove that this re raedy is at last found, any
persons troubled with er complaint in any
ofitsforma,ha£ buttotrv bottle and conviction u
certain. lj
These Gnm3 remove aH[! morbid or bad matter from
the system, supplying in their place a healthy flow
of bile, invigora! ; ng the stomach, causing food to
digest well, purifying the blood giving tone and
health to the whole at / chincry, removing the
cause of the disease—es n fecting a radical cure.
One dose after eating is sufficient to relieve the
stomach and prev<nt the food from rising and sour
ing.
Only one dose taken ** before retiring prevents
nightmare. hH
Only one dose taken at r_3 night loosens the bowels
gently, and cures costiv ness
Onedosetaken after each i meal wil 1 eure Dyspepsia.
lyOnedcseof two tea ap onfuls will always re
lieve Sick Headache. r
One bottle taken for fe H male obstruction removes
the cause of the disease, ri and makes a perfect cure.
Only one dose immediately reiievcsOho.ie.while
One dose often repeated is a sure cure for Chol
era Morbus, and a pre jT\ ventive of Cholera
One dose taken often will prevent the reeurence
of Bilious Attacks while it relieves all painful feel
ings. LJ
fay* Only one bottle is fj needed to throw oct of the
system the effects of medi Qn vine after a long sickness.
One bottle takeD for P“1 Jaun di c e removes ail
yellowness or unnatural S color from the skin.
One dose taken a short W time before eating gives
vigor to the appetite and r_ makes food digest well.
Oae dose often cures Ohroaic D.arrh*
in Us worst forms, while l_ Summer and bowel com
plaint* yield almost to the first dose
One or two doses cures rH attacks caused by warms,
while for worms in child ren, there is no surer, saf
er or speedier remedy in the world, as it net er fails.
BT Afew bottles cures Dropsy, by exciting the
absorbents. (Jj
We take pleasure la recommending this medicine os
preventative for Fever and Ague, Chill Fever, and all
Fevers of a Bilious Typ*. it operates with certainty,
and thousands ore willing to testify to it* wonderful
virtues.
All who use it are giving their unanimous testimony
n its favor.
|3P~Mix wa’er in the mouth with the Invigorator
and swallow both together.
THE LIVER IVIGORATOR i* a scientific Medical
discovery, and is daily working cures, almost too great
to believe. It cures as if by magic, even the first dose
giving relief, and seldom more than one bottle is re
quired to cure any kind of Liver Complaint, from tbe
worst Jaundice or Dyspepsia to a common Headache, all
of which are the result of a diseased Liver.

HAYWOOD’S
BALM OP SAVANNAH!
FOR
Cleansing, Nourishing & Beautifying
THE H^lIR.
IN presenting the BALM OF SAVANNAH to the
public, the proprietor does so without any of the
hesitation attending the introduction of a new and un
tried article, ter it has now been fifteen years before the
puoiic, and each year has added to its popularity The
demand for it having increased so far beyond my pre
vious facilities for its manufacture, the proprietor has re
cently completed arrangements for producing it on a
more extensive scale, and at the same time adding to its
former excellence, by the result es a long practical ex
perience in its use.
The following vouchers are gentlemen well known,
and can be attested:
Savannah, August 3,1858.
J. M. Haywood, Agent—Dear Bir-. I cheerfully
oomply with my promise, to give you my opinion ot the
merits of your Balm of Savannah. After using it for
some two years, I am prepared to speak from experience,
and do not hesitate to pronounce it the best prepara
tion for the hair that I have ever used. For several
years I had suffered from dandruff', which, at times, es
pecia ly during bad health, threatened to destroy my
hair. I tried many remedies, which had been recom
mended to me, without benefit, until I made a trial of
your Balm, which net only removed the dandruff, but
kept my head free from it, at the same time stimulating
the growth of the hair and imparting to it a heaithy ap
pearance. I have reoommended it to my friends, simi
larly afflicted, who, in every insiance, experiencedaimi
for benefits from its use. I esteem it a pleasant and
convenient article for dressing th« hair, possessing most
la the virtues claimed for the popular cosmetics of the
day, with none of their deleterions qualities. I feel con
fident that it only needs to be known to the public to
become universally popular.
Very respectfully yours,
W. T Thompson,
Editor of Savannah Morning News.
To ALL WHOM IT MAT CONCERN !
The object of this is to state that I have, for some
months, used Mr. Haywood’s Hair Tonic —known as
the Balm of Savannah—and have found it incomparably
superior to any other article of the kind. Its use twice
a week is quite sufficient, not only to disengage the
dandruff, Ac., from the hair, but to prevent Us formation
in any applicable quantity. It maintains the hair too,
in that moist and pleasant condition, which so many
other specifics pretend to do, but almost always fail —in
so far as my experience gees. J. L. LoCKK,
Late Editor of the Savannah Republican.
Mat 26, 1858.
Mr. J. M Haywood, Agent t It gives me pleasure to
certify to the unequalled qualities of your Balm of Sa
vannah. It is the best tonic for the hair, as well as the
most effectual exterminator of dandruff 1 have ever tried.
My hair has been inclined t j fall out since my attack el
Yellow Fever in 1854, aud among all the preventives I
have tried, the Balm of Savannah has been the moet
successful. This much I say most cheerfully.
Yours, Ac., P. W. Alexander
