THE proprietor of the hills and plane, . from Bugg’s and Caipp.bell’d lines, o.n the old trading path, to Rae’a old line, on .* v the Indian Spring, for the fa** of decency in others, and of jpftice to himfelf, requests, that * those persons who have so long been in the practice of cutting down, and carrying off and consuming, the lumber and fire-wood trees, to desist from such illegal proceedings.—He perfectly understands the value of the lands, as an appendage to the growing town of Au gusta, or he would not have taken the early pains he did to acquire them. WHEREAS the Books that Mr. John Davifon, deceased, kept for Crook /hanks & Speers , and Crookjbanks £5 Co. were afiigned over to me on the ift of May 1788, and alio received a full power of attorney from the above concerns to recover the debts duTon the hid Books, in payment of a debt due me by the said Company, and being in formed that the deceased took specialties from the different people who (land indebted on the Books, and as some of them are withheld from me; I give this notice, that no person can be fafe in paying them to any other person than myfelf, as their refpecHve aceompts, as yet, Band open on the Books.
