JJ E it enacted by the Senate and Hou/e of
Representatives of ibe State of (jtorgia
in yjtnetal Ajfembly /net, That a fi.m equal to
the falanes of the Governor, Judges, and
other public officers of thi.* Government, as
established by law on the twenty third day of
December, one thouland, leven hundred and
eighty-n ne, be, and is hereby approptia*ed
for their use, to be paid quarterly, by war
rants from the Governor on the Trealurer :
To the President of the Senate, and Speaker
of the House of Reprcfentatives, four dollars
per day ; to the Members of both branches
of the Legislature, at and after the rate of
two dollars per day, for their coming to, at
tendance on, and returning from the General
AlTembly, to be paid by the Trealurer on
the warrant of the President of the Senate,
or Speaker ot the House of Representatives ;
to the officers of each branch of government,
a iuih equal to their loitner eftablilhment, to
be paid t y the lieafurerou the warrant so.

twenty-fix pounds to Samuel Hemphill ; to
the Commiffionets of Ogechee, the lum of
two hundred aud fifty pounds; to the ( cim
miffioners of Brier creek, the sum of one
hundred pounds; to Matthew M'Allifter,
the sum of two hundred and sixty-two pounds,
three shillings and' five-pence ; to John Meals,
the sum of one hundred and ten pounds; to
James White and David Robfcrtfon, the sum
of fifty pounds; to John Newman, the fura
of forty four pounds, fit (hillings and eight
pence ; to Christopher Hedelane, the sum of
thuty pounds ; to Charles Daraaran, the sum
of forty-nine pounds ; to Nathaniel Perdle
ton, the sum of three hundred pounds, for
his salary for the year oße thousand, seven
hundred and eighty-nine ; to |ames Meri
wether, the sum of twenty-five pounds, for
his services as a check on the Tieafury;
which said sums (hall refpeflively be paid out
of the general tax arising for the year one

To John Jones, Esquire, the sum of twentv
four pounds two Ihillings, which was omitted
in the appropriation law for the year one
thousand, seven hundred and ninety, agree •
ably to a resolution of the General Hflembly
of the nineteenth day of December, one

year, the amount of their several bills, duly
audited, for services rendered in their ap
pointments, which said sums lhall refpcffive
ly be paid cut of the tax for the y ear one thou

And be it further enacted, That the sum of
two hundred aud fifiy pounds be paid to the
Agent appointed to fettle the claims of this
slate agamft the United States, agreeably to
the resolution of the General AfTemuly made
in such case.
And be it further enabled , That the Con
tingent Fund for the year one thouland, se
ven hundred and nine y- -ne, ihali be the sum
of one thousand, seven hundred and twenty
five pounds, aud lubje£t to the warrants of
the Governor, for the purpwfe of paying tiie
Printers, house rent, a.«d tor oihei i:ici eu
tal charges, the Governor to be accountable,
wuich warrauts lhall be receivable at the
Treafu y as afotemid.
And be it further enabled. That the Gover
nor be, and he is heteby authortfed and em
powered, to order a delivery of any fpecific
articles retu.ned for the y ear one thousand,
seven hundred and nme<y, at the rates eita
blifijed by the tax aft for that year, to any
public officer of govemmeut, iu .payment ot
their faiaries and compeuiattons as ciiablnhcd
by law.

HE report is now fully confirmed to u«,
| that the Empress of Ruffiahas rejected
the profieied mediation of our Court to make
peace with the Porte.
The EmpreL has laid a plan for negcciating
a separate peace (similar to that (lie had con
cluded with Sweden) with the Grand Viz'er,
and had so ftr id her negotiations,
that several Turkifti officeis ot the fitfi rank
jn the arrliy affifled at it, with a view to al
low Russia her demands.
At this crisis our amhaflador, Conn* Lufi,
arrived at the head quarters of the Grand
Vizier, at Buchateft, and immediately over
turned every idea of such a negotiation; and
our court is (Till determined to accept (f n •
thing less than the full rellitutton of ah he
conquefis made by tiic Rudians from the
Porte during the war.
From these circumftar.eee we naturally con
clude, that a war bet ween our Court aud Kuf
fia is at do great difiance, and that the laser
power will not accede to our terms without
corapulfion.
Every warlike preparation is making for
this purpose.
The east and wefl Prussians, ss well as the
P >merian regiments, all remain upon the
field eftibliflimeuts, and were reiuforred on
the 15th of this mouth with *O,OOO men

It is certain, that the Brabancon*. rejed all

and England. These powers will, confe*
quently, abandon them to their ill fortune.
We learn, that the German troops defined

that orders have bceu given to reinforce thenft
with two regiments of Hungarian troops.
