We recommend the following roads to be
fftablilhed and kept in repair, to wit, the old
road leading from Lamar’s bridge, on Little
River, to where the feme interfeds the Wtkrti
ington road, near Thomas Greer’s, earths
Uchee Creek ; and that William Jianings,
Jeremiah Lamkins and Horatio Marbusf be
appointed Coraraiflionets for the fame. The
old road leading from Scott’s bridge*, on
Little River, through Brownfborough and by
Thomas Greers, on Uchee Creek, to the
County line, neat the Quaker Springs, anebthat
Ha j don Prior, John Ruffau and Levi Macfhal
be appointed Commissioners on that part* of
laid road lying between Scott’s Bridge and
Big Kiokea Bridge, near the Rev. Abraham
Marihall, and that John Walton, James*M*
Neil and John Shackleford be appointed Com
sniliouers for the remaining part of said road
lying between Big Kiok:a and the County
Liat.
The road leading fronnStark’s Mill, on Lit
lie. River, through Weightfborough to the
• Court House, and that Capt. Fredrick Lipkam,
' William Stark and Ropert Randolph be ap
pointed Commissioners for the fame. A road

Bridge on Big Kiokia, near the Baptist old
Meeting House, thence with the old road
leading by the Old. Court- House into the
Washington road, at the Quaker Springs, aud
that W illiam Barnett, John Appliug and Da
niel EUim be appointed Coramiffioueis for the
fame. A road to lead from the Court-House,
the nciireft end best way to Augusta, until it
interiors the county line, and that Benjamin

for the fame* A road to be laid out from
Wiiliam'sford,- on White’s creek, the nearest
way into the Savannah road, near Stanford’s
Meeting House, and that Thomas Napier,
Henry Williams and Benjamin Williams, be
the Commifliuners for the fame. A.voad to
be laid out through Columbia, where the road
from Louifviile up Ogechec Briket the Co
lumbia line, and from thence to run themoft
convenient way to the Wrlkea county lioc, in
a direction to Gfeorge-town, and that Stephen
Mitchcl, William Travis and john Hatcher
be appointed Commiflioncrs for the fame.
;Aroad leading from Wrigtfbarough towards
Savannah, pntil it interfefts the county line
on Brier Creek, and tbat Abiather Davis,
John Watson and Mercer Brown be appoint
ed Commiffioncra for the fame. That the
! present riding way be kept open, leading
from Ninion Bell Magrooder's to thtf old
Kiokja Meeting-Houfc, the Bands near the
.fame not to be exempt from working on pub
lic roada. That the privilege be given to
the inhabitants of William’s creek to open a
< road from Berry'* bridge to join the read
leading from Wnghtfborougb to Hutchinson’s
ford, on William’s creek* ~ We recommend
a . bridge .to be built over each of the creeks
throughout this any road is re
commended to pass, and fcverally guaranteed
for the term of five years > .and the Com-,
miflioners or any of them ba*authorixcd to *
Ut'tfac building of she fame, and recommend ■ *
that an extra task be levied on she county to <
the amount of one hundred and. fifty pound*
for the express .purpose of building the bridges

an order for tho- sum of fourtectr.pounds, to
enable him to makepayment for the building
of 4 bridge over the»Littlc Kiokea Creek, and •<
refered to us by the Grand Jury of the county. <
of Richmond; on the petition of John Graves,
Esp. of Wilks county, praying that the sum.
of one hundred and eighty-two pounds five *-
(hillings and five pence may be ordered him, >.

We recommend that James Ramsey and
Stephen Stanford ho exempted from paying
their poll tax.

for the year 1790 be indulged' in collcfting
the taxes of fticb persons as are returned is*
lolveots for the term of twelve months, and
tbat he be required to-make ufie of all lawful *
meaforea.t» procure the fame. •
We have examined'the tax returns for tho •
present year, aud they appear- regular, except* -
mg that a number of yogthexre rammed de
faulters which arc not liable by law to pay *
tax, and recommend that the infuing General
Aflemhly (hook) give fucb relief as to juftico *
(hall appertain.
, We present as-a grievance the unjuftifiable
.cenduft of the Executive ,in attempting to
divert the colleMiou of tax to the injury of
public credit, which appears to be a ftrech of f
power, by ifluing the following order, to wit,..

We present as a grievance that the Re*
prefentatives for the county have made, ae •
we conceive, a partial choice of Justices of *
the Peace, aa they have appointed in fomc
diffrids a number of. fu(ticca, and in othcre
none. Wo thank his Honor the Judge for
the charge given to the Grand jury at tbe«
opening of the Court, and recommend that
our presentments be publiflted in the State .*
