aim at influencing men of your
X description by any publication were
a vain attempt and would only convince
the world, that the wiiter bad a good
cpjnioo of hirofelf; he who is supposed
to have the highefl pole in the election,
altho' he had the lowefl as a representa
tive from his own county, has lately been
so much in the habits ot a lawgiver, that
it -ts not to be wondered at he cannot
brook any sentiment which does not cor
respond with his own;—there is per
haps one of the number who will also
think for himfelf, but upon different
principles, —principles to which he has
frequently facuficcd his private opinions
when the public good required it,—as
for the other two, who are now counted
upon ; re| ort fays, they belong to the
jrfl man, but it is to be hoped they will
give the lie to such ir.finuations and pre
fer the choice of their constituents to auy
»ther CQnfideration.
- It is, citizen eleflors, to add to your
yefponfibility, and to prevent the future
plea of ignorance, that it is now declared
the accusations ag&inft Mr. Adams are,
tn investigation, found to be the poiiti
cal crimes of Mr. JeiFerfon: and it is
within your own knowledge, for, as it
is generally underffood here, you have
each of you been furniflied with tha 1 in
ve{ligation, which is a pamphlet entitled,
The pretenflous of Tlcomas Jcjferfon to the
Pr-jidiii'cy examined and. the charges a
gainjl John Adams refuted , addrejjed to
the citizens of America jin genera! and
particularly Jo the elector * of the President.
There it is clearly proved from Mr. Jef
ferfon's own words, not garbled or fe
lefted, but fairly recited, that he is the
driftorrat HE is the patron of privileg
ed orders, — that his politics will annihi
late the existence of the Southern States ,
and that ir.flead of the profound philo
sopher which he has been represented,
he is but the admirer of gimcracks and
the improver of whirly-gigs. •
. Reflet citizens electors, on the man
ner of your elc&ions, your names were
interred in that ticket which was em
phatically denominated The true re
publican ticket , refieft on this and vote
accordingly. And finally, recoiled! that
Yen were not ei-cted on the principles of
feeing Anti-Federal!jls bnt An f i-Tazou< ;
and that the people of Georgia, who so
eagerly embraced the federal constitu
tion, instead of having changed their n
pinions of it for the werfe, admire it
more and more, as they feel the happy
effrdls of its benign and prosperous ope
ration.
