We present as a great grievance that
the patrol and other laws of the state are
not diftribnted to the diffrent counties
at the public expence, so as to enable the
different officeis concerned to execute
- their several duties.
We beg that his honor judge Stephens
> will accept our grateful thanks for his
aifiduity and attention to the duties of
his office, during the present term of the
court.
We recommend that these our prefer
ments may be publilhtd in theEtate Ga
zette.

NOTICE.
WHEREAS John was
brought before us by writ of Ha
beas Corpus, charged with horse dealing,
and it appearing that he had kept a horse
concealed in the woods or cane-brake foe
two months, and ether circumstances ap
pearing which convinced us that he was
stolen, on which charge the said Sellers
is now confined in jail. The horse is of
a bright bay, four years old, fourteen
hmds and one inch high, white face and
under lip, three white feet and a small
white spot above the other hoof, and on
his left fide near his (boulder, and trotts
r>i , f‘eether. Any person claiming said
h/>rfe is requeued to apply to Howell
Jairett, Esq. the riff, and prove theiatne;
laid Seilers lavs he borrowed the horse 01
a William Gnffi h, on Edifto, 18 miles
above Caunon’s bridge. It is supposed
the horse was stolen on the back parts
of Virginia, North-Caroliua, or over
the Mountains. The several printers Aid
requested to publiih this notice that the
owner may get his horse, aud the thief
be puniihed.
