NOTICE is hereby given,
THA T separate propofais will be re
ceived at the office ot the Secretary lor
the Department of War, until the 31st
day of July next er.fuing for the /'apply
of all rations, which may be required for
the ufc of the United States irom the iit
day of Odober, 1803, until the 30th
day of September, 1804, both days in
ciunve, at the following places—viz.
Firll, At Niagara, Detroit, Chikago,
the Miami of the Lakes, Michilimacinac,
Fort Wayne, and at any place in the date
of Ohio.
Second. At Vincennes.
Third. At Fort Maffac, near the
mouth of the Ohio, Kalkaficias, and near
the mouth of the lllenois.
Fourth. At South Weft Point, Tclli
-00, Knoxville, Naftiville, and at any
place or places where troops arc or may
be stationed, marched or recruited with,
in the Hare of Tenncffee and Kentucky,
and within the Cherokee nation between
Tenneffce and Georgia.
Fifth. At the Chickasaw Bluffs,
Natchez, Fort Adams, Mobile, and any
place within the Miffiftippi Territory
more than ten miles from the river, and
on the road between the Miffiftippi Ter
ritory and the Tennessee river, and on
the road from the Natchez to the boun
dary line between the Chocktaws and
Ghtckafaws, and at any place in the
Ghickafaw or Chocktaw country between
Bear creek and Natchez.

Sixth. At Fort Wilkinson, Cock/pu
Iftand, and at any place or places where
troops are or may be stationed, marched
cr recruited within the state of Georgia,
or on the Indian boundary between Geor-.
gia and the Creek nation.
Seventh. At Charleston, Rocky Moun
tain, on the head waters of the Santee,
and at any place or places where troops
are or may be stationed, marched or re
cruited within tne states of South and
North-Carolina.
Eighth. At Norfolk and at any place
or places where troops are or may be sta
tioned, marched or recruited within the
state of Virginia.
Ninth. At Fort M‘Henry, and at any
place or places where troops are or may
be stationed, marched or recruited within
the state of Maryland.^
- Tenth. At Fort Mifflin, Pmflnirgh,
Carlifle, and at any place or places where
troops are or may be stationed, marened
or recruited within the states ot Pennsyl
vania, New-Jersey and Delaware.
Eleventh. At Port Jay, Weft Point,
Albany, ScheneCtady, and ar any place
and places where troops are or may be sta
tioned, marched or recruited wuhm the
state of New-Yotk, excepting Niagara.
Twelfth. At Fort Trumbull, fort
V/olcott, in any part of Vermont, and
at any place or places where troops are or
may be stationed, marched or recruited
within the states of Connecticut and
Rhode-Iftand.
Thirteenth. At Fort Independence
(Boston Harbour), and at any place or
places where troops are or may be ha
tioned, marched or recruited wrthin rhe
flare of Massachusetts, the OiflnCt of
Maine excepted. ,
Fourteenth. At Portsmouth, Portland,
and at any place or places where troops
are or may be stationed, marched or re
cruited within the state ot New-Hamp
(hire and the Diftria of Maine.
A ration to consist of one pound and a
quarter of beef, or three quarters of a
pound of pork, eighteen ounces 0. bread

or flour, one gill of rum, whifky or
brandy, and at the rate of two quarts of
fait, four quarts of vinegar, four pounds
of ionp, and one pound and an half of
candies to every hundred rations. The
p’ices of the several component parts of
the lation nuift be fpecified.
The rations are to be futnifhed In such
quantities, that there (hall at all times,
during the term of the proposed contrails,
be fufficient for the consumption of the
troops at Michilimacinac, Detroit and
Niagara for fix months in advance, and
at each of the other polls on the Weftcrn
waters, for at lead three, months in ad
vance, of good and wholesome provisions,
if the sane ihall he required. Itisalfo
to be nutted to all and e.ery of the
Commandants of fortified places or ports
to call for at seasons when the fame can
be transported, or at any time in the case
of urgency, such supplies ot like provi
sions in advance, as in the diferetton of
the Commandant shall be deemed proper.
It is to be underlined that the Contrac
tor is to be at the expense and rilk of is
suing the supplies to the troops, and that
all losses fufiained by the depredations of
an enemy or by means of the troops ot the
United States, (hall be paid lor by the
United States at the price of the articles
captured or dcllroyed, on the depositions
of two or more peifons of creditable cha
racters, and the certificate of a commis
sioned officer, afeertaining the circum
fiance of the loss, and the amount of the
article for which compensation shall be
claimed.
The privilege is understood to be re
served to the United States of requiring
that none of the supplies, which may be
furniffied under any ol the proposed con
traCls, fiiall he issued until the supplies
which have been or may be furnilhed un
der contracts, now in force, have been
consumed, and that a supply in advance
may be always required at any of the fix
ed ports on the Tea board or Indian fron
tieis, not exceeding three months.

made to the honorable the Inferior Court
of Grreae county, for leave to fell a
traft of land in said county, in the fork
of the Oconee and Appalachie rivers,
on the waters of Ellifun’s creek, adjoin
ing Matthews, Moreland and others. Al
so one other traft in said county, on the
Bcaverdam of Richland creek, adjoin
ing Houghton, and others j it being for
the benefit of the heirs and creditors so
Miles B-avers, deccafed.
IT is requdled that all per
sons who have any demand* against said
dcceafed, will make them known within
the time preferihed by law, and those in
debted will make payment bj the firft of
September next, as no longer indulgence
will be given.
