Our readers arc referred to the advertisement of Ellis & Mathis, by which it will be seen that they will sell on Wednesday night 21th instant a lot of beautiful Oil Paintings. All lovers of these silent yet speaking mementoes of living substan ces, are invited to call at their store and examine before the time of sale. Read the advertisement of Danforth, Nagle & Cos. and you will observe that they are still at the old stand, where will be found, as usual, a large stock of drugs, medicines, dye-stuffs, oils, <fcc. This firm are also daily expecting a supply of the genuine Kerosene Oil. This oil is fast becom ing popular among house-keepers, as being more cleanly and brilliant than any of the common oils heretofore in use. Cold Weather, „ Oswego, N. Y. Nov. 15.—This morning there were five inches of snow on the ground, and the sleighs, with their jingling bells are seen and heard in all directions. New York, Nov. 15.— There was a heavy fall of snow hero last night. Pmr.AnKMMnA, Nov. 15.—1 tis snowing here, but melts as f'asst almost as it falls. Washington, Nov. 15. —A heavy snow storm, prevailed last night and this forenoon throughout the northern, eastern and middle States, and it is also snowing here. Hon. Jefferson Davis. —Our distinguished fellow citizen, Hon. Jefferson Davis, U. S. Sena tor from Mississippi, reached his home in this county yesterday. We are gratified to state that his health is almost completely restored.— Vickv bunj Whig, 6th, DAILY COMMERCIAL RECORD. Columbus Times Office, Nov. 9, COTTON. There was a good demand yesterday, for the better grades and sales were easily made upon a basis of 10c. for strict middlings and 1034 e for good middlings. COTTON —Sales of cotton to-day 1,170 bales, at prices ranging from 1032 to 11 cts. The mar ket was rather stiffer with an improved demand which was limited by bad weather. New York, Nov. 16.
