BCEKIIAVF’S HOLLAND BITTERS.
The Press of the country has been particular
ly loud inlhopmi eof the hitters. Among the
many notices, ve offer the following to an im
partial public.
“It is a well known beet that we do not puff pa
tent medicines, and that wo but seldom advertise
them, but Boerhave’s Holland Bitters comes to us
endorsed in such a manner as a specific for the
diseases it premises to cure, that we do not only
advertise it, hut give it this favorable notice un
a k_d by the proprietors.—[Handel Zeituug, N. Y.
The Philapelphis Argus, in speaking of the
late exhibition held in that city by the Franklin
Institute, says:
“In noticing medicines we are always extreme
ly cautious, unless satisfied of the merits of the
article. Among those exhibited is the celebrated
Holland Bitters. This medicine has been exclu
sively introduced into every State in the Union,
and into the Canadian Provinces, principally
within the last two years. The exhibition shows
testimonials in every language known in America
among which we notice one from the late lLm.

WOOD'S lIAIR RESTORATIVE.
VVoiith Knowing.—Prof. Wood, whose adver- !
tiseiperit will he found In another column, has
discover, •! a remedy for the gray and bald, which
is at once practicable and cheap. If requires no
wig, nor extraordinary trouble. There can bo no
doubt whatever of its efficiency. We have seen
testimonials almost without number, and from
men of great intelligence, high standing and mo
ral worth.
Those who have been bald for years are now
wearing their own hair, and appear ten years
younger than they did six months ago. As in
most cn.-es gray heirs end bald heads are prema
ture and imnatural.itis a duly to remedy them uy
the natural anduuJuul Pal means which Profess
or Wood has invented, and now kindly offers to
the afflicted.- Read his advertisement, try his
wonderful remedy, and give the Professor anew
testimonial.—[Memphis Whig.

Late dint ovcfii * in Pathology show that very
many of the diseases which afliict mankind arise
from impurity of the blood. This has long been
suspeclod bull.- only lately known. In Consump
tion, tuborci; - are found to bcasedimentary depos
it from the blood. Dropsy, Gout, Cancers, Ul
cers and Eruptions, all aviso in disordered depos
ii.es from the blood. Bilious diseases and fevers
are caused solely by its deranged unhealthy state,
and even the decline of life follows a want ol‘vi
tality h: the blood. In view of these facts Dn.
Aykk designed his Cathartic Pill especially to
purify and invigorate the blood, and hence we be
lieve to arise its unparaielled success in controll
ing and curing disease. Medical Journal.

Manipulated or Phospho-Peruvian nGano I
THE fact that this Guano is equal to Peruvian,
pound per pound, is as well established as any
fact can he established by human testimony and ex
perience.
Four good reasons why Farmers should use this
Guano in preference to any other—
-Ist. It is fully equal to Peruvian on the first crop.
2d. It costs, at present price of Peruvian, $lO less
per ton.
3d It is perfectly prepared for immediate use, by
drill nr otherwise.
dill. It contains fifty percent, more Phosphate than
Peruvian, and therefore a more permanent improver
of the soil.
This Guano is used by the following named gentle
men, among others, from whom its results maybe
learned:
Jas. T Earle, Esq., Mil. Archibald Taylor, N. C.
M. T. Goldsboro’ •’ I)r. George Field, “
James Eubank, Va. Gen .1 11 Littlejohn “

to children particularly, that they acquire no bad habits,
receive no superficial instruction, but are taken through
the whole harmonic circle, and taught to read the Pia

Mrs. Weir invites the attention of the ladies, espe

PICTURE GALLERY IN FULL BLAST.
IMIE undersigned announces to the citizens of Co
lumbus, and in fact to al 1 Georgia, that he is now
taking Pictures in as good style as they can lie taken
in Ihe “Empire State,” either by a foreign or native ar
tist. His prices range from that much desjiised sum —
fifty cents to ten dollars. And although lie does not
pretend to say that he is the best artist in the United
States, yet lie fears not the result of a comuarison with
those whose reputation is bolstered up by long adver
tisements and puffs of their own manufacture. He
prefers that ladies and gentlemen should judge for
themselves. And if those in want of a a good Picture
will call and give him a trial, he will ’ convince them
that lie fully understands the modus trperandi of picture
taking. All he wants is a fair, and impartial trial, and
he fears no competition from any quarter.
His Gallery is over Barnard’s Store, Broad Street, j
where lie will be happy to receive visitors and show |
them his specimens at all times.

This is a purely vegetable compound, prepared on
strictly scientific principles, after tbe manner of the
celebrated Holland Professor, Ban-have. Because of
its great success in most of the European States, its in
troduction into the United States was intended more
especially for those of our fatherland scattered here
and there over the face of this mighty country. Moot
ing with great success among them, I now offer it to
the American public, knowing that its truly wonderfu
medicinal powers must be .vknowiedged.
It is particularly recommended to tin -• no -, i
whose constitutions may have been impaired hylic:
continuous use of ardent spirits, or other (i.rms of dis
sipation. Generally instantaneous in effect, it linds ie
way directly to tbe seat of life, thrilling and ijua-kening
every nerve, raising up the drooping spud, and in tact
infusing new health and vigor in the scs’etu.
NOTlCE.—Whoever experts to find this a ‘a verage
will be disappointed; but to the sick. weak, and lew
spirited, it will prove a grateful aromatic cordial, pos
