GREAT WONDER
Os the Nineteenth Century,
HAIR RESTORATIVE?
SAY’S the St. Louie Democrat: Below we publish
a letter to Dr. Wood of this city, from a gentle
man in Maine, which speaks glowingly of the superior
merits of his hair tonic. Such evidence musi have its”
efiect, when coming from a reliable source. If certif
icates are guarantees of truth, the Dr. needs no en
comiums, nor useless puffery from the press.
Bath, Maine, Jan. 20, 1850
PROF. O. J. WOOD & CO.
Gentlemen: Having my attention called a few
months since to the highly beneficial effects of your
hair restorative, 1 was induced to make application
of it upon rnv mvn hair, which had become quite grey
probabiy one-third white; my whiskers were of same
character Some three months since 1 procured a
hottle of your hair restorative, and used it. I soon
found it was proving what I had wished, i used it
about twice a week. I have since procured another
hottle, of which I have used some 1 can now certify
to the world that the gray or white hair totally dicap
peared, both on my bead and face, and my hair has
resumed its natural color, and I believ more soft and
glossy than it has been before for twenty-five vears-
I am now sixty yea'rsold; my good wife at the age of
fiftvtvvo, has used it with same effect.
The above notice I deem due to you for your valu
able discovery. lam assured that whoever vt ill right
ly use, as per directions, will not have occasion to
contradict inv statements. lam a citizen of this city
and a resident here fortlie last fifteen years, and am
know'll to everyone here and adjoining towns. Any
use you may make of the above, with my name at
tached. is at your service, as I wish to preserve the
beauties of nature in others as well as myself.
I ant truly yours.

Baltimore Jan. 23.1858.
Prof. O. J. Wood: Dear Sir— Having had ihe mis

effects of the yellow fever in New Orleans in ISM.
I was induced to make a trial of your preparation, and
Ai>id it to answer as the very thing needed. Mv hair

my obligations to vow in giving i,

Professor Wood Dear Sir: Having made a trial of
vour Hair Restorative, it gives me pleasure to say that
its effect has been excellent in removing inflammation,
dandruff and a constant tendency to itching nh
which 1 have been troubled from my childhood; ana
has also restored my hair, which was becoming
to its original color. 1 have.used no other article with
anything like the same pleasure or profit.^
