FOE SALE.
SI will sell at a reasonable price and
upon three years credit, one planta
tion on the east side of Flint River, Ssgal
where the Railroad from Columbus to f ~Fn h
;rosses, consisting of FIFTEEN HUNDRED
AND FIFTY ACRES of good bottom and marsh
Lands, and eight hundred and fifty acres of Pine land.
The bottom and marsh lands are as good as can be
found in Georgia. This may be divided into three
settlements. An extensive levee has been built, but
more work mustyetbe done, to secure the land per.
manently from overflow.
Also, a Plantation immediately below the estate of
Gov. Towns, on the west side ofthe river, and one and
a half miles below the railroad, embracing 1900. acres
ofthe best River Bottom, without any marsh, and
and about sixty or seventy acresof high pine land, up
on which there is a beautiful and convenient settle
ment. Upon this tract there are two miles and a half
of good levee, but requires some repairs and conside
rable extension to render all the lands secure. Upon
both plantations, the lands are, with slight exceptions,
fresh and extremely productive; on the west side it
is all fresh but seventy acres. Any gentleman wish
ing to examine them, will please call on Mr. Lilly on
the east side, and Mr. Young on the west side of Hie
river, and should a purchase become desirable, see me
at Columbus. Possession given first January next.

THE reason why, is that by Nature’s own process
it restores the natural color permanently alter the
hair becomes gray; supplies the natural fluids, and
thus makes it grow on bald heads, removes all dan
druff, itching, and heat from the scalp, quiets and
tones up the nerves, and thus cures all nervous head
ache, and may be relied upon to cure all diseases of
the scalp and hair; it will stop and keep it from falling
off'; makes it soft, glossy, healthy and beautiful, and if
used by the young two or three times a week, it wifi

PROF. O. J. WOOD & CO.
Gentlemen—Having heard a good deal about Prof.
Wood’s Hair Restorative, and my hair being quite gray
I made up my mind to lay aside the prejudice which
I, in common with a great many persons, had against
all manner of patent medicines, and a short time ago
1 ct>mir,ei)cqd using your article, to test it for myself.
The result lias, been so very satisfactory that I am
very glad I did so, and in justice to you, as well as for
the encouragement of others who may be as gray as I
was, but who having my prejudice without my reasons
for setting it aside, are unwilling to give your llestora*
tive a trial till they have further proof, and the best
proof being occular demonstration, I wrote you this
letter, which you may show to any such, and also di
rect them to me for thrtherproof, who am in and out
of the N. Y. W ire Railing Establishment every day.
My hair is now its natural color and much improved
in appearance every way, being glossier and thicker
and much more healthy looking. I am, Yours Re
spectfully, liENRY JENKINS.
Cor, Columbia, and Carroll Sts. Brooklyn.
Livingston, Ala., Feb. 14, 1858.
Professor Wood —Dear Sir: Your Hair Restorative
bus done much good in this part of the country. My
hair has been slfglitly diminishing for several years,
caused, I suppose, from a slight burn when I was quite
an infant. I have been using your hair restorative for
six weeks and I find that I have a fine head of hair
growing, after having used all other remedies to no ef
fect. 1 think it the most valuable remedy now extant,
and advise all who are afflicted that tvay to use your
remedy. You can publish this if you f thmk proper.
Yours, &c. S. W. MIDDLETON.
Philadelphia, Sept. 9,1857.
Prof. O. J. Wood: Dear Sir—Your Hair Restora
tive is proving itself very beneficial to me. The front
and also the back part of my head, almost lost its cov
ering—was in fact bald. 1 have used but 2 half pint
bottles of your Restorative, and now the top ot my
head is wellstudded with a promising crop of young
hair, and the front is also receiving its benefit. I have
tried other preparations without any benefit whatever.
I think from my own personal recommendations, I can
induce many others to try it.
Yours Resp’ly t D. R. THOMAS, M. D.

The Restorative is put up in bottles ‘of 3 sizes, viz—

Mr. KEITH, Columbus, Ga.
Dear Sir:—l take pleasure in recommending Grover
& Baker’s family Sewing Machine. We have us

months, and it is all that you.represented it to be. It
is not only a convenience, but we regard it an indis

[From Col. Hines Holt, Columbus, Ga.]
Grever & Baker’s Sewing Machine has been in use
in iny family for several months, and has given entire
satistketion. It does not get out of order, rarely breaks
needles or thread, or gives trouble or delay in its man
agement. Its simplicity of construction, and the ease
and facility with which it can be used, constitute a
part ofits numerous chief excellencies.
March 25, 1859. HINES HOLT.
[From Mrs M. Gresham, Columbus.]
I have been using one of Grover &. Baker’s Sewing
Machines, in my business of Dress Making, and cheer
fully testify to the ease and rapidity with which my
style of work may be accomplished by its use, to its
simplicity ofconstruction and consequent ease of man
agement. No consideration could induce me to be
without one, or exchange it for any other pattern I
have seen. MARY GRESHAM.

Ayer’s Sarsaparilla
A oompound remedy, In which we have la
bored to produce the most effectual alterative
that can be made. It is a concentrated extract
of Para Sarsaparilla, so combined with other
substances of still greater alterative power as
to afford an effective antidote fox the disease
Sarsaparilla is reputed to cure. It is believed
that such a remedy is wanted by those who
suffer from Strumous complaints, and that one
which will acoomplish their cure must prove
of immense service to this large class of our
afflicted fellow-citizens. How completely this
compound will do it has been proven by exper
iment on many of the worst cases to be found
of the following complaints:
Scrofula and Scrofulous
Eruptions and Eruptive Diseases,
Pimple*, Blotches, Tumors, Salt Rheum,
Scald Head, Syphilis and Syphilitic Af
fections, Mercurial Diseasb, Dropsy, Neu
ralgia or Tic Douloureux, Debility, Dys
pepsia and Indigestion, Erysipelas, Rosa
or St. Anthony’s Fire, and indeed the whole
class of oomplaints arising from Impurity qb
she Blood.
This compound will be found a great pro
moter of health, when taken in the spring, to
expel the foul humors whioh fester in the
blood at that season of the year. By the time
ly expulsion of them many rankling disorders
are nipped in the bud. Multitudes can, by
the aid of this remedy, spare themselves from
the endurance of foul eruptions and uloerous
acres, through whioh the system will strive to
rid itself of corruptions, if not assisted to do
this through the natural channels of the body
by an alterative medicine. Cleanse out the
vitiated blood whenever you find its impurities
bursting through, the skin in pimploe, eruptions,
or sores; cleanse it when you find it is ob
structed and sluggish in the veins ; cleanse it
whenever it is foul, and your feelings will tell
ri when. Even where no particular disorder
felt, people enjoy better health, and live
kmger, for cleansing the blood. Keep the
blood healthy, and all is well; but with this
pabulum of life disordered, there oan be no
lasting health. Sooner or later something
must go wrong, and the great machinery ex
life is disordered or overthrown.
Sarsaparilla has, and deserves mu oh, the
reputation, of accomplishing these ends. But
the world has been egregiously deceived by
preparations of it, partly because the drug
alone has not all the virtue that is claimed
for it, but more because many preparations,
pretending to be concentrated extracts of it*
contain but little of the virtue of Sarsaparilla
or any thing else-
During late years the publie have been mis
led by large bottles, pretending to give a quart
of Extract of Sarsaparilla for one dollar. Most
of these have been frauds upon the sick, foe
they not only contain little, if any, Bareapor
rilla, but often no curative properties whatev
er. Henoe, bitter and painful disappointment
has follow ed the use of the various extracts of
Sarsaparilla which flood the market, until the
name itself is Justly despised, and has become
synonymous with imposition and cheat.. Still
we call this compound Sarsaparilla, and intend
to supply such a remedy as shall rescue the
name from the load of obloquy which rote
upon it. And we think we have ground for
believing it has virtues which are irresistible
by the ordinary run of the diseases it Is intend
ed to cure. Li order to secure their complete
eradication from the system, the remedy should
be judiciously taken according to direetiona ao>
the bottle. ,
