FEVER AND AGUE,
from which mankind, suffer over a large part of the
globe, i* the consequence of a diseased action in the
system, induced by the poisonous miasm of vegeta
ble decay. This exhalation is evolved by the action
of solar heat on wet soil, and rises with the watery
vapor from it. \Vhil*theaun is below the ho.izon
this vapor lingers near the earth’s surface, and the
i Grtus is taken with it through the lungs into the
! .Rood. There it acts as an irritating poison on the
i internal viscera and excreting organs of the body.
J TANARUS: cUver becomes torpid and hills to secrete not only
; this virus, but also the bile from the blood, Both the
i virus and the bile accumulate in the circulation, and
: produce violent con titutional disorder. The spleen,
the kidneys, and the stomach sympathize with the
liver, and become disordered also. Finally, the in
stinct of our organism, as il in an attempt to expel the
noxious iniusiou, concentrates the whole blood of the
; body ill the internal excretories to force them to cast
i it out. The blood leaves the surface, and rushes to
tiie central organs with congestive violence. This
• is the chill. Butin this effort it fails. Then the Fev
i er follows, in which the blood leaves the centre! or
gansand rushes to thesurface, as if in an another effort
• to expel the irritating poißon 'houhgh that other great
; excretory—the skin In this also it fails, and the sys
! tern abandon* the attempt exhausted, and waits for
I the recovery of strength to repeat the hopeless effort
another day. These are the fits orpaxoyxysnis of
j I ever and Aoue Such constitutional disorder will
: of course undermine the health ifft is not removed.
We have labored to find, and have found, an anti
; dote.
Ayer’s Ague Cure,
which neutralizes this malarious poison in the blood,
and stimulates the liver to expel from the body. As
it should, so it does cvye this afflicting disorder with
; perfect certainty. And it does more, or rather does
j what is of more service to those subject to this infec
: tior. If taken to season it expel* it from the system
as it is absorbed, and thus keeps those who use it free
from its attacks; keeps the system in he3lili although
exposed to the disease. Consequently it not only
cures, bnt protects from the great variety of affections
whioh ure induced by this mehgnant influence, such
as Uenittent Fever, Chill Fever, Dumb, or Masked
Ague, Periodical Headache, or Bilious Headache,
Bilioas Feyer, Neuralgia, Rheumatism, Gout, Blind
ness, Tootache, Earache, Catarrah. Asthma, Palpi
tations, Painful Affection* of the Spleen. Hysterics,
Colic,Paralysis,anapainlnl Affection* of the Stom
ach and Bowels, al. of which n hen arising from this
cause, will be found to assume more or less the in
termittent type. This “Ague Cure” removes the
. cause of these derangements and cures the disease.
This it accomplises by stimulating the excretories
jto expel the virtue fiom the system; and these organs
1 by degrees become habited to do th a their office of
; their own accord. Hence arises what we term accli
\ natation. Time may accommplisli the same end, but
I often life is not longanouirh, or in sacrificed in the
: attempt, while t his “ Acce Cure” does it at once, and
I with safety. We have great reason to believe this is
Ia surer as well as saferremedy for the whole class of
j diseases which are caused by the miasmatic infection,
■ than any other which has been discoved ; and it has
| still another important advantage to the public, which
' is, that it is cheap as well as good.
: is, that it is clieap as well as good.
