Taxes! Taxes! —Our citizens will see by the
advertisement of the City Treasurer that Execu
tions for defaulting city taxes are now being is
sued. All persons who have not yet settled can
save cost by paying within the next three days.
That time having passed and taxes not forth
coming, look out for the marshal.
Companies for thr War. —See advertise
ment of Col. C. A L. Lamar, who wishes to en
gage the services of two more companies to
oomplete his regiments. Companies from Geor
gia or Alabama will be accepted. Col. Lamar’s
f egiment is now at Brunswick.

Recent developments as to the policy to be pursu
ed i,y our enemies on the sea coast, render it desir
able to increase our membership to its maximum
number, 114 men. To accomplish this, we will be
pleased to receive TWENTY strong, able bodied
young men. They will be furnished by l ieutenant
Rodgers with transportation, lie will pass through
Columbus in the course of a few days en route for
this place. Applicants must tome uniformed.

BY virtue of an order from the of Deca
