CASTOrtTJL. Bears the Kind You Have Always go’Jghf Signature x ZL of MINSTRELS TONIGHT. Opening Performance Will Be Magnificent. Al. G. Fields, with his munificent ag gregation of minstrel talent will open the Academy of Music and the tonight. The house will be packed to the doors for the performance deserves the patronage of every one. It is probabiy the . best minstrel performance ever brought to the South. Speaking of the entertainment afforded an exchange says: “As was to have been expected, the opera house last night was packed frem parquet to gallery when Al. Fields’ min trels gave one of the best performances of the kind ever witnessed in Americus. It was a pot-pouri of fine music, excellent dancing and the most modern and enter taining specialties. The opening scene represented the Are de Triumph and Champs Elysees, with lamps lighted, while the minstrels, seme in French court cos tume. waved the flags of all nations, while the superb band of twenty-five pieces played stirring airs. The vocal contin gent is worthy of much praise and the efforts of Reese. Prosser, Harry Sheldon and John C. Dickens were met with warm est approval. Mr. Field’s satire cn the war, “On to Cuba,’’ was a laughable con ceit, the head of the minstrels imperson ating the cook of the Rough Riders. Al G. Field has a great show; he received a magnificent reception, and his hundreds of Americus admirers will always welcome his return here.’’ Bears the Kind * Oll Have A!wa H s BOCZht Leave order at Powers’ to » have your store decorated.
