The President of tho Senate, as the members know very well, hesitated as to tlie construction of tho joint res olution, mid finally decided that tho Scnato should retire; - Tho decision and tho retiring were both on tho point of the objection mado by .tho gentleman from Massachusetts. After some further points of ordor I being raised by Messrs. Mungen and Farnsworth, and 'overruled by the Speaker, the question was token on the direct question whether tho vote -of Georgia should bo counted, nnd it was decided iu the negative—yeas if, nays 150—tho only Republicans vot ing yon being Messrs Baker and Hawkins.
