Worth Couet—Wc went over to Isabella
on Tuesday and spent a day with the good
people of Worth couity. The Superior Cour
waa in session, and (here was an unusually
laTge attendance of citizens. Judge James
Johnson, waa presiding, and waa giving gen
eral satisfaction. Though somewhat self-
willed, and sometimes arbitrary, he seems to
have a just appreciation of the situation, and
struggles t» overcome his natural bent. He
has the advantage of! being familiar with ihe
books, quick in analysis and clear in discrim
ination; but his thought is too rapid for lan
guage, and his words ofton plod confusedly
a long way in rear of his ideas, rendering
repetition and emendation necessary. He is
net wanting in legal learning, or mental
qualification, and if he could wipe out the
recordofthe past would no doubt make a
popular Judge. * j

Rheumatics, List kn and Learn—Prof
Kayton, the popular celebrated manufacturer
0 f Kay ton’s Oil of Life, the best and surest
liniment for rheumatism known, has now dis
continued his travels throughout the States to
sec the lame and the cripple, and those other
wise afflicted by rheumatism, or neuralgia, or
pains in Ihe side, &c., for he argues, aud well
too, that the people can cure themselves with.,
out him, by using his Oil of Life, the virtues
of which are universally acknowledged. Some
people were foolish enough to believe, from
the swift and speedy cures made on the spot,
before their eyes or their friends, that the
Professor’s hands were bewitched, but we as
sure nil that the Stirling virtue lies only in
Ihe Oil of Life and good rubbing. For rheu
matism,, neuralgia, pains in the back, joints
or sides, or wherever a liniment can be used
that Kayton’s Oil of Life is acknowledged as
greatjind without an equal, giving tho pa
tient almost instantaneous relief by one rub
bing. For sprains and bruises, it has ^afo
been used with marked success.

TIIE WnOLE STORY IN A NUTSHELL.
The office of the stomach is to convert the
food into a cream-like aemi-fluid, called
Chyme. This is effected partly by.the action
of a solvent, called the 1 gastric juice, which
exudes (Torn the coating of the «tfi
partly by a mechanical movement
grin, which churns, as It were, the dfttiob
ailment. The Chyme passes from the stom
ach into the dnodonum, or entrance to the
bowels, where it is subjected to the motion of
tho bile, and the nutritious portion of.it con*
verted into a fluid called Ckylt, which, event
ually becomes blood.
Now, it Is evident that if the great solvent,
th« gastric jnfee, is not prodndM inMfficiat

formed. It Is also clear that-If t» liver,
which plays such an important part in chang
ing the nourishing portion of the • chyme in
to the material of the blood, is coqjested, or
in any unnatural condition, the second process
will not be thoroughly accomplished. The
result of the two failures is dg^epms, compli
cated with biliousness. nrm , ‘
The mode in which HOSTETTEKS BIT
TERS operate in such oases is this .* they in
vigorate the cellular membranee of the tlo-
maou, which envolves the gastriojoioe,'Here
by insuring an ample suffisieney of the fluid;
