morrow will eontain the following letter,
written by Governor Hen-Iricke, of Indiana,
a friend ia this city:
InniANAPOLis, November 19,1874.
Dxab Sir—I thank you for your kind
sele of the 7th, which I received upon mv
return, after aa absence of a week. I think
jonr suggestions are of the greatest impor-
tance. Although the political change baa
extended over the whole country, and ap-
- pears very positive, yet a reaction will snrs-
]y act In if we dissappoint the people in their
just expectations. To make oar faeces j per*
■anent we oast observe moderation and
wisdom. The Republican party cannot de
stroy as, hat we can destroy ourselves.
Truly yours.

Car. Hendricks on Ibe Political Re
action,
constantly for several years for purposes in
harmonious with the Seventh Commandment,
“attended” her two or three times a week,
and charged it up to the old gentleman.—
We assume that he woe old, for hto vision
was evidently defective. Dr. Lorenzo Waite,
a leading homeopathic physician of Berk-
shim connty in MaraacbaaeUs, attended
Mrs. Wilson regularly from 1807 until she
confessed, and collected of Mr. Wilson for
the same about $15,000. He procured one
nr two abortions upon Mrs. W.. of which be
was the primary cause as well as the imme
diate occasion, and charged to Wilson.—
Children were born of which he was the
father, and he charged the attendance to
Wilson. Mrs. W. was continually troubled
with some ailment,'and Dr. Waite was being
attentire, and regularly sent in the bills to
Mr. Wilson. Finally Mrs. W.’s conscience
smote her; sbeconfresod; suit woe brought
against the Doctor for seduction; Henry L.
Dawes was of ooansel for tba plaintiff; the
trial lasted a week, and the jary agreed apon
a verdict of $10,000 for Mr. Witoon. This
leaves a balance against Wilson of $5,000.
and an equal amount in favor of the odal*
teroas Doctor. It to feared that ia thia
wicked and perverse generation there will
be a epeidy emigration of doctors to Berk*
shire county, Mass.—Cincinnati Eeywcr*
To this end and touching tribute,
Watson adds the following gem of bis own
creation. There is music, pathos, poetry
and soul in each line, and if the author writes
no more these beautiful verses will write

MRS. J. M. OGDEN.
Obiit. Deo. 10tb, 1874.
I think Ibe world has lost a gush of song.
All the day long
A silence broods apon the slumbrous sir,
And everywhere
The fingers of a dreary dumbness creep
Aorou tbe bars of musie, just as sleep
Shadows tbe paining eyelids of unrest
To make them blest.
Ob, sweetest, clearest singer of tbe throng!
Her gift was song !
She sang so sweetly to tbe charmed earth
That music’s birth
Was o’er and o’er repeated while she tnng,
And all her mellow melody outrung
Gave calmness to the storm and ease to pain
And peace again.
Paleced somewhere in ether, she’s at rest.
And she is blest.
And moves her fingers over Music’s bars
Beyond tbe stars ;
Beyond the shining of the utmost sun.
Beyond remotest planets’ farthest run,
Beyond the reach of all save God and Love
She sings above.
I think she’s learning ’mid the shining throng
The truth of song.
I think she’s singing ’mid the choir abovs
The song of Love.
I think there’s melody which Munic’s heart
Ne’er emptied into golden sheaves of art:
I think she’ll lesrn that melody complete
At the Master’s feel.
