TO THE PLANTERS
, —OF—
mmm Georgia.
Albany, eTan. 1,1878.
Knowing the inability you
have had heretofore in getting
a Commercial Fertilizer, relia
ble and good, and the great
disappointment experienced
from the use of Guano, I now
offer you the well known" and
most popular fertilizer in the
markets, something that is
PURE AND RELIABLE. Tile
Etiwab Dissolved Bone,
24 per cent., for composting
your cotton seed and barn
yard manure. The only
Commercial Fertilizer our
people habitually compost are
the different superphosphates
For this purpose it is earnest
ly recommended to you to get
the highest grade of Dissolv
ed Bones in your reach, as a
Dissolved Bone of 24 per
cent solubility is worth twice
as much as an acid phosphate
of 12 per cent, solubility.—
Hence, 100 lbs. of the former
will go os far as 200 lbs. of
the latter. Many farmers use
low grades acid phosphates,
200 lbs to the acre, and along
side the same number of lbs.
of a Dissolved Bone of high
er grade, and at the end of the
year come to the conclusion
that they are about equal in
value. This conclusion comes
from the fact that the acid
phosphate was enough, or, in
other words, had sufficient
available phosphoric acid, and
sulphate of lime, while the
other contained more than was
wanted, and the excess was
not taken up by the plant, but
remained in the soil, where it
is true it would not be lost,
but remain t>e valuable prop
erty of the owner of the soil.
Now is the season for mak
ing your compost, as the long
er it stands the better, when
it is not exposed to the weath
er. I have a large supply
READY to DELIVER to all who
may wish to use it.
Sell it on cotton option time,
or cheap for cash. Call and
see me, or address me at" my
office, before purchasing.
I have also on hand the Et-
iwan Guano, which is one of
the best and highest grades of
Guano on the Market.
Hoping to have your orders,
I am, very respectfully,
JNO. D. CHEVES.
