surely awaits us.
Still, I ilo not want my personal

The slender majority we now have

discharge these important trusts, we
must secure the Executive. Judicial
and Legislative Departments of the
tioverment. We must have unity—
no division, no shrinking.
Your friend,

The Early (inarils.
We find Hie following in the last
number of the Fairly County Win*:
The Early Guards have received an
invitation to attend a grand military
ball during the fair at Albany, and
also to enter tin- list for Ihe prize of
$2tJU offered lo the best drilled com
pany. Some of the members are, we
understand, very anxious to accept
the invitation. Hope there is still
pride enough in Ihe company to make
a respectable turnout on the occasion,
should a sufficient number go. The
Captain thinks the chances to take
the prize are good, with the proper
effort on the part of the company.
A private letter from Blakely, re
ceived on Thursday, gives us the news
that the Guards will be here. The let
ter says: “Resolutions have been
passed accepting the invitation of
your fair committee to attend the fair
in May. These resolutions will be
properly-forwarded to the committee
and Capt. Wight next week. We are
now haudsomely uniformed, and the
company expect to bring sixteen fine
looking boys.”
Come up; we will he glad to see
you. We have seen the Early Guards
on drill, and take pleasure in pro
nouncing the boys jam up in the tac
tics. Come up.
