ing up address ami speeches. Dr. J.
P. Sloven-, of Lee, delivered his sci
entific lecture on thi* subject of
•’Ozone.” The subject was well
handled, and was pronounced by
those who ha vi* made a study of such
matters, highly ereditahle to the learn
ed gentleman. The lecture was de
livered in the forenoon Thursday, at
l ift’s Hall.

I’urman. of Milledgeville, delivered
a literary address of rare excellence.
A large audience were attentive lis
teners to the eloquent and practical
words, ri- they fell from the lips of
the speaker. He held the closest at
tention of the hoys of the school; and
gave them ■•nine wholesome advise.
DECLAMATION*.
Prof. Lee. who had charge of the
declamation class of the school, asked
the attention of the audience to the
•*hovs” after Mr. Furman had finish
ed : and for thirty-five or forty min
ute > we were entertained with the
•pooches. All did admirably well;
and in nine of them we could discov
