Be it ordained l.y the City Council of Augusta, Thai nil Fodder, Hay and Oats brought to this city ir. wagons or carts for sale, Shall bo weighed at the scales prepared for that purpose near the lower market. Be it further ordained, That it shall be the duty of the clerk of the lower market to superintend the weighing afafl Fodder, Hay and Oats, at all hours of the *l«v. from sun rise till sunset. And tha patty selling such Fodder, (I'ay or Oats, shall pay to the said clerk fifty els. or each wagon, and twenty-five cents for each cart or dray. I PURCHASED a Negro Boy, About the first day of this present year from a gentleman in Hamburg by the nAine of Robert Boyce, he re| presented the hoy to me «3 a negro of good char acter. The Boy has runaway, from my planta tion, ip Talbot County about the 23th of Inst month, and 1 am informed by the rest of my uegroes, he said if he could get to Augusta he would be safe, he was taken up and .put in jail, in. Knoxville, Crawford County, and by some neglect of the jailor lain informed he got out and made his escape, he is about 18 or 19 years of age, about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, a little yellow complected and has a tolerable long mouth rather inclined to stick out, had on when he left j pantaloons and inutid jacket of coarse cotton Cloth of a light brown colot and a fur hat, tolerably worn of the hellcrown fashion.
