TO THE PUBLIC.
WHY the Union ftdel Property Lottery, is
off red to the public! is frequently ask
fd ? and that the whole mttle: is not well enough
particularized.
The Proprietor fouling himself involved
Mortgaged his landed Estate to one, and his
Negroes to another, (two of the oldest) of his
creditors. With this view that if li»'could noj
he abU to raise the mortgages, (hat he would in
g.ich events take Ihe hcstcoitrse with his Pro
petty to pay-his debts. Grin other words pay
the other creditors as well as the Mortgagees.
Accordingly with him as with others, his reason
able views failed. And in order to dojoslicele
others of his creditors, as well-ns ihe Mortga
ges; He has offered his property in the plan
now hr lore the public.
The propert ’ has been valued by four highly
•distinguished and disinterested gentlemen at
$20,0J0 and divided into four thousand whole
Ticket* nt five dollars CHtfn’ Reference to the
Scheme for the Prizes and their disci iption.-
Also the creditor? appointed, under seal,’ six
highly disdngiti.-hed and disterrsied geoth-inen
t .attend as Assignees, and the public sanctioned
the whole foe.
Now if the Proprietor shall f iil by the; second
o.f next inon'h to sell rickets enough to pay the
two Moitgages, (which is less than hall the
Whole amount of the said slock.) tM’ii the Lot
t rv, must fail, and hut linle lqore wdl hebeahlf*
In pay than the said. Mortgages and lie he left
indebt with a wilts and six small children with
neither properly tit»r crcdir . But on Ihe other
hand, If lie sells his lrckets sitfli. imt and
nhuve io pay Ihe .Mortgages thru his oilier ere
ditori will be m'lni illy hetiefited, and he wifi !
be enabled with his slo. kto pay his debts. Ao*'
tho' he wi l have nt- pr• ■-}*” rly, he will he dear of
deb" ; and he tiu-fs reclaim liis credit,
Hie great anxiety r f the proprietor to sell his
Ticket*—rests on ibis, Io do justice to his oilier
creditor* as well as his two Mortgagee*, and to
pay his debts with a property at least worth
yi ire than ii is oil’-red at
If thou well iudeht instead of me
Then l would buy of thee,
