Military Encampment..
WITH a view to the promotion of Military
Science, and the encouragement of Vol
unteer Cjrps, a system of Aduual Encampments
is proposed. Arrangements are id progress for an
extensive Encampment in this neighborhood, id
commence an the second Monday in May next/
in which all the Volunteer Corps of Infantry in
the State are respectfully invited to join us. The
time for the continuance ol the encamp
ment is ONE WEEK. A beautiful location has
been selected, commanding an extensive view of
the .town and surrounding couutry. Air arrange
ment lias been made for the construction ofcofii
for table Tents and Mai quees for the accommo
dation of ns many Companies ns may come. A
Contract lias been made with individuals who will
act as Sutlers and furnish the then with good
board on the ground at 75 cents each per day
On the last day an Encampment Medal #lll oe
shot for. The first of ths proposed series af En
campments took place near Macon last spring,
and was attended with much benefit to the Com
panies present*

that Lland, and his funeral Procession.
—The whole comprises twelve different
views executed »n nearly 20,000 square
feet of canvass, by eminent Artists, and
is allowed to he on. of the finest produc
tions of Art. Teh thousand Figures are
brought before the spectators with strik
ing likenesses of the chief‘characters. The
Officers, Men and Horses, are as largo as
life. Ships of War &c. taken from draw
ings made <rn the spot. A Military Band
accompanies each Evolution of the Pano
rama, and a correct description is given
of each view as it approaches.

ward will be paid on the delivery of said Negro
to ine, in Culiiltlbia county, or if lodged iii .any
Jail so that 1 get him again. It is believed he is
lurking about Augusta ami Savannah—and it is
likely that #htn caught he would not tell his
owner’s same, as lie refused to do so on a
foftner occasion.

To preveut the circulation es Bank Bills
under the denomination of Five dol
lars, within this State.
Whereas', the circulation of Bank Bills
of a small denomination, has been produc
tive of fraud and loss in the public, and
has a tendency to prevent or retard the
General and speedy restoration of a spe
cie-currency.
Be it therefore enacted by the Senate
and House of Representatives of thb State
of Georgia in geo'eral assembly met, and
it is hereby enacted by the authority of
the same, That from and afier the first
day of September next, it shall not be law.
ful for any Bank or body corporate; in
vested with banking privileges, or person
or persons whomsoever, within the limits
of this State to issue, emit, pay away, pass
or circulate any bank Bill, Note, Ticket,
or paper, purporting to be a Bank Note,
or of the nature, character or appearance
ofa Bank Note, or calculated for circulat
ion as a Bank Note, either of the Banks
of this State or of any other State; of a
less denomination than Five dollars.—
Provided , that nothing herein contained
shall be so construed, as to make it unlaw
ful for any corporation or person or per
sons u homsoever, to present for payment,
or in any other mode, transmit fur redem
tion to any Bank either of this or any o*
ther State,any Bill or Bills of such Bank
of the denomination aforesaid, remaining
in circulation after the .irue aforesaid; with
the view and in the mode to stop the
future circulation thereof.
Sec. 2. And be it further enabled by
the authority dforesdid, That any Bank
or Corporate Body, or person or persons
whomsoever, offending against the pro
visions of the hi St tieciion of this act,
shall forfeit the sum of One Hundred
Dollars, to be sued for in the name of
the State, by any licensed Attorney, on
the application of any informant cogni
zant of such offence, who shall be a com
petent witness on the trial, and recover
ed by an action of debt or on the Case,
in any couit of competent jurisdiction in
this State, with full costs; one half whete
of when recovered shall be paid id the
use of the State, and the other half to
the use of the informer.
Sec. 3. And bb it fun her enacted.
That each and every issuing, passing,
paying away, or circulating, of each and
eVery such Bank Bill or Note, as is spe
cified iu the first section of this Act, con
trary so the spirit, true intent, and mean
ing thereof, shall constitute anew, sepa
rate and distinct offeuce, and shall be lia
ble to ii new, separate and distinct penal
ty.
