Infantry in the Slate are respectfully invited to join us. The time proposed for the continuance of the encamp ment is ONE WEEK. A Contract has been made with i idividuals who will act as Sutlers and furnish the men with good board on the ground at 75 cents each per day. Da the last day an Encampment Medal will hf shot for. Whereas, the circulation of Bank Bills of a small denomination, has been produc tive of fraud, and loss to the public, and has a tendency to prevent or retard the General and speedy restoration of a spe cie currency. Be it therefor? enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Georgia in general assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the; authority of the same, That from and after the first day of September next, it shall not be law ful for any Bank or body corporate, in vested with banking privileges, or person nr persons whomsoever, within the limits of this State to issue, emit, pay away, pas 9 or circulate apy bank Bill, Note, Ticket, or paper, purporting to be a Bank Note, or of the nature, character or appearance of a Bank Note,.or calculated for circula tion as a Bank Note, either of the Banks of this State or of any other State, of a less denomination lhap Five dollars.— Provided , that nothing herein contained shall be so construed, as to make it unlaw ful for any corporation or person,or. per son* whomsoever, to present for payment, or in any other mode,, transmit for redem tion to any Bank either of this or any o ther State ,any Bill or Bills of such Bank of the denomination aforesaid, remaining in circulation after tire .ime aforesaid, with the view and in the mode to stop the future circulation thereof. Sec. 2. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That any Bank or Corporate Body, or patson or persons whomsoever, offending against the pro visions of tho first section of this act, shall forfeit the sum of One Hundred Dollars, to be sued for in the name of the State, by any licensed Attorney, on the application of any informant cogni zant of such otfeoce, who shall be a com petent witness on t|ie trial, and recover ed by an action of debt ot on tbe Case, in any cour t of competent jurisdiction in this State; with full costs, one half where of when recovered shall be paid to the use of the State, and the other half to the use of the infortiier., Sec. 3.
