RENOVATING LIQUID,
RECENT DISCOVERY.
RS. BERNARDS RENOVATING
• LIQUID for extracting all kindsofOils,
Paints, Tar, and Grease trom the most delicate
coloured Silks, Satins, Cloths, Bombazines, or
Velvets, without injuring in the least their Col
our or Texture.
This recent and valuable chemical discovery
is offered for sale by the subscriber.—lt almost
supersedes the necessity of dying, and the
scourer’s “Vocation is gone.” Fifty cents
worth w’ill secure a Bacon Merchant’s breech
es from criticism for 12 months. It acts like a
charm upon silks of the finest texture, by in
stantly removing the taints of grease, without
in the least affecting the fabric itself—the most
inveterate lodgments of wax upon Coat Collars,
fly before it like dust before a brush. It is no
Quackeiy but the true secundum artem mode of
appearing decent in old clothes at the least im
aginable expense. It is offered to Gentlemen at
50 cents a Phial, and all other sorts of people
can have it at the same price.
No danger need be apprehended in using it
unon the finest and most delicate Silks—nor is it
like the soaps so commonly advertised in our
days, which removing one evil, almost invaria
bly produce another of double size—nor does it
require the preparatory meansofall other renova
tors —such as hot irons and the like. Only a lit
tle clean water, according to the directions, is
wanting. Oil or Grease of any kind can be ex
tracted from the most delicate coloured carpets,
without the usual trouble of taking them up. If
used according to the directions, it will at once
extract every particle of grease from the finest
Cloth, or most delicate Silks, without injuring
in the least the colour or texture.
For sale by TURPIN & D’ANTIGNAC.

BEWARE OF DECEP i MON 5! ! ’ I
A TTEMPTS have recently been made by
a house in the City of New A r oi to prac- >
tice one ofthe most unbhishir.g impositions ever 1
conceived by the most designing.
It is know that “Rowand’s Tonic Mixture,” j
after an extensive trial of its ineiiis throughout i
the country, has proved its usefulness to such i
universal satisfaction as a thorough and radical I
cure for Fever and Ague, as to have be’come :
identified with the necessities of a great portion i
of I he inhabitants of the United States. '
The unbounded popularity,therefore, that this ;
medicine has secured to itself, has excited the ;
cupidity of certain no strum-venders of notoriety '
who have dared to mix up a trash hoping to put it I
off upon the ignorant and unwary as the genu- j
ine “Rowand’s Tonic Mixture.” For this pur- j
pose they have substituted a fictitious name in ■
sound and appearance very similar to the true i
“Rowand’s Tonic Mixture.” The border of i
the envelope has been very closely imitated, and I
one half of its reading matter purloined where
bv the copyright ofthe author has been infring
ed; and have without authority and fraudulent- i
Iv made use of the namesand certificates of high j
ly respectable individuals, who have testified to .
the value and excellence ofthe true “Rowand’s '
Tonic Mixture,” attaching the same to the base .1
and spurious imitation. This trick cannot suc
ceed amongst the careful and intelligent part '
of the community—but is calculated to deceive
! to a dangerous extent the ignorant and uncau- ;
tions. Legal proceedings, however, will be im- ;
mediately instituted to punish the fraud, and at '
tae same time an appeal is earnestly made tn
5 all who may have an opportunity to expose
| the imposture, toextend their influence in order
i to protect distress and suft'fering from such inhu
; man designs.
; N. B—The genuine “Rowand’s Tonic Mix
: tnre” may be had of AV.m. J. Hobby, sole agent
i for Angnsta and its vicinity.
